Is there anyone here who also reads Chinese light-novels? If you do, you would have come across the phrase "peach-blossom eyes". It is considered one of the prettiest eyes especially on men. So I discovered what that eye type looked like and found that Feroze has peach-blossom eyes...

The third in the left-hand column is Peach blossom eye type...

Ever since you wrote you'd like to see Basit admire Ayesha in a saree, I was looking up photos of Ushna in sarees. And this one I found to be the sexiest 😆 And see Basit likes light colours too...

Do you guys think that Basit is attracted to Ayesha? I’m talking in terms of the way she looks. I know he’s aware about her presence and mostly likes her for her personality but do you guys think there is evident attraction (from his side)? We have that one scene where de admired her working on the laptop but is there anything apart from that?

Very interesting point to consider!! My understanding of Basit's character tells me that Basit's attraction to Ayesha is not based on how she looks. Basit's distrust of women have made him sort of immune to considerations of beauty. His softness towards Ayesha is growing out of this sense that she is his wife, his life partner. In him we really see that idea that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. The more fond he grows of Ayesha, the more beautiful she will appear to him. Again reminiscent of Elizabeth as perceived by Darcy in Pride and Prejudice... since Mr. Darcy after their initial meeting had written Elizabeth off as barely tolerable, he had told the Bingleys "she a beauty? I'd soon call her mother a wit." ...later at Pemberley, when Miss Bingley criticises Elizabeth's features and reminds him of how he had criticised her when they had first met, Darcy tells her... " that was only when I first knew her, for it is many months since I have considered her as one of the handsomest women of my acquaintance.''

Wow! Beautifully articulated! I never thought of that. But you’re right, he didn’t seem smitten or even mildly impressed with Soha. He doesn't seem like the type to chase looks.

I love everything about the answer given by Twerping. I too think that Basit is not someone who will go for a person's looks. It is the character and dignity of ayesha that attracts him.

That being said, I feel Basit is very hyper aware of Ayesha. Like if she is in the room, he can't ignore her. Which tells me he feels a physical attraction to her.

Would love to see a scene where he gets lost seeing her. Doesn't have to be ayesha getting ready for an occasion. Just he must look at her and lose his senses thinking how did I get so lucky.☺️

I think Basit is attracted to Ayesha...I mean it might not be an intense physical attraction, but you can see that softness in his eyes. From the last scene in ep 12, to the first scene of ep 13 part 1... you can see the softness being carried forward. He keeps looking at her until she speaks to him and gives him license to share the bed 😆 Then the fact that he rubs his forehead (which is a tic Basit has when he is slightly nervous...he has done it in earlier scenes as well) before looking towards her. Ayesha toh has her back to him. But the nervousness before he looks over towards her shows that he has this compulsion in him...that he wants to look at her but is also slightly nervous about it. Then he reaches out and turns off the light..so he is thinking about her and wants her to have a restful sleep.

When he comes to her standing in the balcony, he watches her before opening the door and speaking to her. There too you see that desire to see her. After ditching Fahad's dinner invite, when Ayesha returns, I felt he was on the defensive right from the moment Ayesha walked in. He was expecting her to say something so he answers very curtly to her statements. But as soon as Ayesha's eyes well up, you see him feel bad about it. But again being on the defensive, he doesn't apologise and instead attacks by saying that he was tired. But I felt he keeps feeling bad and knows he has hurt her and so when she is about to leave, he asks her where she was going...

Then when he brings her home from that job interview, his eyes are so soft as he looks at her. I get this sense that he was probably feeling like Ayesha is throwing a cute tantrum in her demands to go and get a job. When she says that thing about not wanting his money and that earning a few thousand from her own efforts was better than all the money he could give, that is when he gets angry. At that time his attitude is very patronising, but at the same time, you can see that he had started out in a mood to cajole her into accepting his decision. That itself is a form of indulgence from Basit who doesn't ever consider the feelings of others.

The attraction is there...maybe it is just starting out but it is there. 🤪

Also that scene in the study, the way their argument runs its course, the fact that Basit listens to Ayesha even if he doesn't agree with her, that comes from that fondness for her that has grown in his heart.
