Hi everyone,
I am not particularly new to the forum but I postvery rarely.
But after today’s and past few episodes I reallyhad to write about the absolute incompetent writing of this show. Today’sepisode in particular was so frustrating. To listen to the male protagonist’s viledialogue, the stance of the side characters…..was borderline triggering for me.
Now I completely get that this is a ITV showand there is certain quotient of drama that this show needs. The over the dialoguebaazi is part of it. But does it really need to be so vile? And even if it did, could they not have built up to it so that the male protagonist didn’t look like a massive narcissistic prick?
I get the leads separation is almost a must in any ITV show, but built up kaha hai? Three episodes ago (the freaking same day in the Ghum world going by the outfits) Virat was all apologetic realizing his own lapse of judgement. Now not even a full day has passed and he has gone mad in his stubbornness.
And I cant believe how anyone can write something so…vacant? Like if the writers were in hurry to bring on a separation track all they had to do was show a year or even few months/weeks leap and say that Pakhi (or her parents if they want to redeem Pakhi) was counter suing the family saying the family forced her to carry the baby. They could have shown Sai determined to prove family’s innocence (but let’s be real none of them are really innocent. In real life Pakhi would have pretty decent case against the family but whatever). But the family, including Virat, wanting to withdraw the case to avoid further beizatti. Virat would try to convince Sai that Pakhi had served a year and punishing her further isn’t worth all the hassle family would have to go through. But Sai being adamant about not giving in.
This way they would end up in today’s episode but at least this way the family and mainly Virat wouldn’t have looked like a total freaking joke of a human. Like how long did Pakhi even stay in jail? Not even 24hrs right? Like this is beyond pathetic writing. And all they had to do is put characters in new outfits, show that some reasonable time has passed since Pakhi’s arrest and add one dialogue that the family is being sued. And while Virat and the family would still be in wrong objectively, but I think their point of view would have be more reasonable .
I am all for drama, even the very high voltageones. It’s the main appeal of ITV. But is it too much to ask for some consistency in characters? Some substance in the drama? Some genuine disagreements with genuine points on both side that audience can at least forgive these character after they have their redemption arc. Like here the family and Virat are so obviously wrong and so so so vile that when Sai finally comes back to this house it will look like Sai losing instead of a happy reunion.
So yeah, I had to get it out of my system after today’s episode. Like I said last few episodes have been quite triggering to me; I am not even watching the full episodes just catching some clips on insta and even there I cant watch one scene completely without the urge to spit on Virat.
