Not only Ghum, but even other shows have made a joke of surrogacy. First YHM, then in YRHPK, the antagonist (Kuhu) becomes the surrogate for lead couple and creates so much drama and tension for the FL who is baby's bio mom. It's ridiculous.

@Shree15 explained thoroughly what happened afterward. The plot is basically surrounding the other kid who they had presumed dead. It was too painful for ML and in-laws to talk about FL and their kid, so they removed all memories of both of them. Even though ML faked marriage with vamp, audience could tell it was empty. They didn't live in same room, they never really interacted together in any real sense. ML was always in memories of FL, angry at life and fate for taking away his wife and daughter seven years ago. We hated the writers for the storyline, but we could always tell the ML's one true love was FL, not the vamp. But they never show that intensity for Virat and Sai.

Excuse was that ML was too broken and in despair to do it alone and the baby needed mother figure. I don't know why it had to be the vamp though. We all complained that the child had a grandmother and many aunts around who could be mother figure.

Plus, the vamp in that show was not like Pakhi. Shagun was narcissistic and selfish but then at one point she lost everything in her life because of it. Her boyfriend dumped her, her ex-husband and ex-in-laws all hated her, and even her own brother was on ML and FL's side and gave up on her. She had no other family. Vamp's biological son Aditya broke all ties from her when he realized how selfish she was. She basically lost every person close to her because of her selfishness. If Pakhi goes through something like this, I will love it. I want to see her lose everything near and dear to her. Not just one day in jail.

After Shagun loses everything, she moves cities and reinvents herself and becomes "good." Audience didn't believe her, but that's what they showed. That Shagun was all good now and was repenting all her mistakes before. She does things to bring FL and ML closer as repentance for ever coming in between them. She even apologized to FL and ML and then became part of their life again. That's when surrogacy thing happens. Eventually, they show FL is also okay with surrogacy. She is actually real friends with Shagun and thankful to her for giving birth to their kid. The shit that leads to the leap is completely irrelevant to Shagun and surrogacy.

During leap and after that, everyone thinks Shagun is still just as nice for raising Pihu. Even FL and ML are thankful to her. Then she gets exposed after a few years to both FL and ML. After that ML is very very staunch in his support of FL. That's what makes Raman different from Virat. When vamp is exposed, he is very vocal about being against her and in support of FL.

Jeez. Sounds complicated. Kaafii kachra but still better than ghkkpm.

Here ips is out to bail the woman who put his wife and child's life at risk.

Instead of bailing her out, they can opt for anticipatory bail for bk if their worry is that pp will take bk's name in the case and accuse her of being her co conspirator. Apparently in this show, age is amother immunity for criminal behavior. Ideally bk should 100 % be in jail. She has done a LOT of other things too. But by now pp would have been asked for her statement and if she hasnt named bk then really theres absolutely no excuse for this bail pp and bringing her to CN! Why would anyone in their right minds bring her back to the same house. Would anyone ask a robber or murderer to take refuge in the house of the person whom they robbed or committed a crime?!

This show is new level of insanity.

Shagun won the custody case? See that was wrong too but it did happen and they did show it. But yes, I see Ghum going this way

YHM is thousand times better than the current state of Ghum.
