I feel audience want something something light, entertaining and youth driven ..the reason why BB2 made 180cr

I feel all these dulhania series..lukka chuppi..Sonu ke titu etc is the need of the hour..these movies if released today would surely make the same they did when they released..and a gully boy for eg would not work today..

Laal Singh Chaddha And Raksha Bandhan Drop - Raksha Bandhan Closes Gap

Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan both saw big drops on Friday post the holiday which was always going to happen and that it was so important to get up some solid numbers on the opening day which did happen. The drops seen on day two are pretty normal but the problem here is you coming off low opening numbers.

Surprisingly it was Raksha Bandhan which got a bigger boost on day one due to Raksha Bandhan did better on the second day as it is looking at a drop in the 30% region and should collect somewhere in the 5.50-6 crore nett range. This is a low collection and the two day numbers will be around 13.50-14 crore nett.

Laal Singh Chaddha is looking at a drop in the 40% range with collections set to be around 6.50-7 crore nett which will take the film to 18-18.50 crore nett in two days. The film is collecting very poorly in mass markets and its the same story for Raksha Bandhan in the South.

These Friday numbers do make it tough for these films but that was pretty much known on day one as they failed to collect the required numbers. Now it is probably about to see where these films can go and if Raksha Bandhan can hang around close to Laal Singh Chaddha or even go ahead then it can be a moral victory for that film but that is about it.

LSC’s mom didn’t want him to go out during the communal riots that we’re going on at that point of time(they didn’t focus on those riots, let alone making any commentary) so she scares him that there was malaria being spread outside- she starts this when he was much younger when it was difficult to explain to him the real situation. So LSC ends up associating religion with Malaria.

Like already mentioned, there was absolutely ZERO reference to anything Hinduism.

If anything, the Pakistani muslim character is shown to say at the end, "I need to go home to Pakistani, because there is a lot of malaria there right now, and I need to fight against it" or something to that effect.

In fact, even the initial dialogue is in response to the guy asking laal, "do you do any IBAADAT or puja", like both were mentioned! And Laal specifically says "mazhab se malaria phailta hai" coz in his mind, religious riots were associated with a disease outbreak.

This movie has so many of such deep moments, but it's being massacred and targeted by the hate brigade and trolls on Twitter by twisting the dialogues and taking them out of context. Hell, literally putting words where are none.

About LSC getting recruited into the Army and the misinformation i that is being spread:

Of all the things the haters could come up with, this comes across as the most disgusting one. These guys in their hatred can go to any lengths it seems.

LSC in the movie had no official diagnosis on him. He goes through school and college, albeit working extra hard than the other kids, like any other kid. He passes through all the tests that the Army conducts before getting recruited. Any reason why the Army should then discriminate against him?

Yes, coz apparently individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder or who have been discriminated against in childhood should continue to be discriminated throughout their life even if they are achieving the same milestones as others

It’s so disheartening to see this kind of reaction because it is inadvertently throwing those pure souls into the unnecessary drama and encouraging the stigma and discrimination against them. :(

But my concern is why to bring dharm, majhab, pooja paath in derogatory way to your movie if you don't want to create controversy? And what's with the malaria wala dialogue? Not everytime a controversy will save your movie.

ok , i tagged because i saw your " leave for turkey " post the other day on this matter.

Gone are the days where viewers used to be so crazy about starpower that they would ignore bad storyline and crappy performances and rush to theaters to watch their movies. Now they think twice before going to theaters. If they find the movies overall good and interesting they go otherwise they anyway have the options of watching them digitally.

LSC would have been a hit if the movie was good. It's not the boycott that made people stay away from the movie. It's the movie itself and of course Aamir's terrible performance. I wish they had casted a younger actor in the movie.

basically BW is facing from audience what we have faced all our lives

tumne sirf 75% laya aur local college mein admission, sharmaji ki beti ko dekhon 99% aur IIT mein seat, kuch seekhon us se

issi ke liye humne tumhe paal pos ke bada kiya, kis muh se yeh report card utha ke laye ho
