A patriotic film like 83 couldnt do much at the box office either, it has nothing to do with Khans, ppl rather watch movies at home its just as simple as that. If Bollywood wants to survive they should make movies with the minimum budget.
Poor people of 83
Couldn't come up with any excuses, reasons to whine endlessly and blame the audience for it
Post covid people have become cautious in spending money, also they are fed up watching mediocre films. Bollywood can survive if they come with interesting stories coupled with good actors to represent it on the big screen.
Focus should be in making the movie better than spending it on actors and unnecessary PR tactics (OTT promotions) . If the film is good, audience will come to the theatre!!

Did they blame the audience? They blamed Covid.
I remember Shamshera makers blaming the audience.

No they didn't blame the audience
But then there are also people who question audience when they make a film a hit.😆

Would have never imagined LSC will perform worse than Shamshera. Both YRF and AK did a lot of promotions. Seems to be useless if the product is not good. Really surprised with the low opening of Raksha Bandhan. I had expected much higher opening given the positive response to the trailer. KJo must be quaking in his boots now seeing the responses to Shamshera & these 2 movies.
why are people blaming whatever in PK on aamir, it was a raj Kumar Hirani film
haven't seen an aamir post dhoom, so horrible that movie was. the same big eyed look isn't acting
but will watch lsc for kareena's acting though
Hirani is also blamed..for PK and few more things

Contrary to what people assume..audience has not brought BW down on its knees coz of religion, nationalism, patriotism etc..ya twitter trends mention these issues but for a major chunk of audience..the youngsters and people in their 30s n 40s..this isn't the reason.
This particular audience has stopped supporting BW after June 2020
I think it’s a combination of it all plus post pandemic financial issues. Bollywood has had a PR issue for many years prior to this but it’s all come to a head now.
Poor storylines, lack of creativity, nepotism, toxic culture, elitism, selective activism on certain issues while remaining mum or worse in support of other issues. Its like the straw that broke the camel’s back.
I think the well wishers of Bollywood should take a long hard look at what’s wrong including trying to understand the boycott sentiment. From my perspective, its not bigotry. There is a genuine feeling of lack of support from Bollywood and an accompanying feeling of betrayal for funding an industry that doesn’t respect the sentiments of those on the ground repeatedly.
Hirani made PK. No one would boycott his films. Almost guaranteed to get a mega opening. 😆
Kangana is all for majority community. Her film got 50 lakh opening. FIFTY LAKHS!😆
Karthik Aryan got a good opening. He neither supports nor derides majority community or any other community.
Gangubai succeeded with Alia. She's smack in the middle of the nepo argument. SLB was attacked by Karni Sena for hurting Hindu sentiments.
It's not about Sushant. It's not about boycott. Audiences don't give an eff as long you give them what they paid for. A good story, well made.
Aamir's problem was not the story. It's that things changed in the last 10 years, and the audience which would've watched LSC already knows about Forrest Gump. They can watch it online. If they felt they would get something new from LSC, they would've watched, but they didn't.
If BW actually buys into this boycott argument, they're in for more pain. Point is about getting good scripts, then making watchable films with actors who know how to act. Not more complicated than that.
