Have people forgotten that Aamir also did a Ghajini which has the same syntax as the current South movies? The first South Indian remake which crossed 200 crores or was it 100..anyway Shud up KJO..

But i think aamir is doing it to gain sympathy from the audience for his film. It doesn't look genuine

the problem is kjo gives out his opinion and the media laps it up and we also discuss it 🤣 like he is bimal roy-guru dutt- manmohan desai rolled into one, he is a mediocre filmmaker with a few average films and hits, he will not figure in any list commerical or critical

if nitesh tiwari, slb, hirani, balki, shoojit, sriram raghavan, rohit shetty, gowariker talk there is some meaning, they are happily focusing on their movies and this guy keeps giving gyan like he is some aristotle

Karans film Kabi Alvida was a dumb movie but one thing I never understood why did they set it in NYC rather than Mumbai. Stuff like that alienates people. An im from NYC and have never been to Mumbai. Imagine me saying that 😆

Agreed.

I think there are 2 problems here.

1. If you tell a story which speaks to a small segment of population, you either have to accept only that population will watch

OR...

2. You have to be a damn good storyteller, which includes good story and good writing.

Most heartland Indians will also watch an action movie set in New York if it's entertaining enough.

3. You have to be a good storyteller even for a universal story to work.

But KJo and his types seem to think throwing in a few ingredients makes a good curry.
