*SPOILERS ALERT*

Pardon my grammar.

I am a huge fan of Mohit Suri's films. Almost seen them all. Mostly he does remake of Korean films, but the emotions, Love romance what he brings in hindi adaptations is what makes his direction Special.

Ek Villain Returns, sequel of Ek Villain, I was expecting more than 1st part. Music was bang on, he can't go wrong in that department ever.

CONS of film -

Story is based on 1 line "Killer of Girls who have 1 sided lover". In whole film, this plot is missing. Not just missing but what actually shown is totally different concept where Killer is killing the ones who are cheating their partner. When you get the whole plot on different lines everything will fall in wrong spot then only. John abraham is killing gals based on wrong assumption, karlo baat.

I get it if you want to show dialouges of Hero vs Villain, but in this film this is shoved literally in every scene "Tu Hero Hai toh Main Villain" "Teri kahani ka main Villain Hoon" "Story jab khatam hogi jab Hero jitega", it is repeated so much that u scratch your head as what is going on screen. Where are dialouges, I mean this used whenever there is no dialouge, they must have though ke isi hi repeat kardo. Super torture these dialouges were.

Film's main suspense is Disha Patani is playing ghost who only John can see, in his twisted mind he feel that he has to kill those gals who cheat their partners. Somehow he is convinced that Disha is asking him to do all this. Disha's entry scene & few song scenes, after which when a scene comes where Disha is confronted about her betrayal & John kills 1st gal, at that moment it is very much predictable that Disha is John's imagination. We have seen it in so many films. Also, at later on in 2nd half, everything as predicted is cleared that yes Disha wasn't there.

Mohit tried to Recreate what was done in Ek Villain. He needed Love Story, Arjun & Tara's love story in 1st hour of film is that part which Sid & Shraddha played. Now for Riteish, if there was 1 villain again, ppl might have not got interested ke same hi plot hai, killer 1 hi hai. So Mohit brought Disha's angel in this for John to be killer. IDEA wasn't bad, but Execution was total disaster.

As I said earlier in my post Makers added few scenes in trailer & songs which weren't in film. That also was a big reason why ppl feel that what kind of logic is that.

PROS of film -

I liked Arjun & Tara's love story, Arjun did a fab job, his dialouges were new "Mar jaana manjoor hai, Haarna nahi". He played his that evil shade to T when he exposed Tara, that part in film was done perfectly. It was new approach.

John Abraham's physicque & his senior status, both were kept well to suit his role, his intense fight scenes with Arjun where he dominated prove that. It was best suited to both of them.

Music of Film, such a relief, but that was also not used as it should have been. Except Shamaat, all songs weren't used properly.

Whole Cast did their role with their 100% belief & They tried it best. I don't point them. If not them, koi aur kar leta.

=======

Mohit disappointed big time, this film could have become huge blockbuster. Film is 20% ok, which I might see on OTT, rest I can't bear it.

Rating - 1/5.

You lost me here. He repeated that stupid dialogue “I’d rather die than lose” more than I could count. In fact that’s all he ever said. At this point, I was convinced Arjun said “Mar jaana manjoor hai, Haarna nah” while chucking a shit.

Anyway, I agree with most of your points except this. This is how I perceived Arjun when he was as trying to act evil.

Rich spoiled brat, which he played has that negative evil shade. His intro was that he gate crash his ex's engagement ceremony, girl kissed him, then he left her there saying that dialouge.

Here director wanted to create a Hero image but with negative shade, he's good to be bad kind of. That evil in him was more clearer when he exposes Tara's secret. Woh Massey Hero ka new approach tha iss character mein. He isn't all good, he isn't all bad.

Kabhi dubaara dekhna, you might like that initial love story phase better.

I’ll make good use of Arjun’s dialogue by saying “Mar jaana manjoor hai, lekin ye film dobaara nahin dekhon gi.” I might rewatch the fight scenes, dil ko thandak mili watching John punching his face in.

So I saw the movie and it was decent. Nothing great but average, predictable in some parts though not terrible.

I was surprised by Disha. I always considered her as a non-actor who only relies on looks but I liked her acting in this movie.

SPOILERS (I think)
she can play the sweet naive girl next door and the sexy crazy killer too. I thought she was really good. Idk why she wants to label herself as an “item girl” . She actually can act,

John and Tara were average.

Arjun was below average.

They do keep repeating “hero” “villain” a lot. And by a lot I mean almost every other dialogue.

Ek Villain Returns Scores A Decent First Weekend

Ek Villain Returns sores a decent first weekend of 22 crore nett with good business on Sunday in many parts of the country. The growth on Sunday was a solid 20% which took the collections on Sunday to over 8 crore nett.

The film was pretty much flat on Saturday but this is normally the case for films which open better in the likes of UP and Bihar as they drop on the second day but both were strong again on Sunday. The best business has come in UP for the film followed by Gujarat and Bihar.

The opening day business of the film was good enough to put the industry at ease but for the film itself recorded a decent weekend and now has to maintain decent collections over the weekdays to emerge a success.

The weekend business of the film has crossed the lifetime of many major releases like Radhe Shyam, Attack, Jersey and Jayeshbhai Jordaar and that pretty much puts the numbers of Ek Villain Returns into perspective. The collections of Ek Villain Returns till date are as follows.

Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 8,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 22,00,00,000 apprx
