They ll definitely bring them closer with their evil plans😈
But hw come Dev isn't aware abt their real intention🤔
Also Dev step bro is so mean 😡...he doesn't care abt Dev at all...the latter has sacrified so much for the family n they are taking him for granted 🤬
i thght atleast he s gud.... seems only his mom cares little abt dev
nw who s the girl in the frame... wer vidhi thinks Dev daughter

It's Chitra ...his sis the one who got married 😆
I read somewhere that her father will be impressed by Dev and ask him to marry Vidhi before he dies...idk about love...maybe by that timke they will be already in love

Hi! The show is good, and great to see Iqbal Khan on screen.
It's a modern day adaptation of Bhishma's tale in the Mahabharata -
Devrath (the son of Ganga, the heir to the Kuru kingdom at Hastinapur, who put his father's happiness above his own life, and thus got the boon of iccha mrityu = he's got the ability to choose the time and place of his own death),
Amba
The Kashi Princess who vowed revenge to destroy him since he kinda implicitly forced her and her 2 sisters to marry his step brother. He captures the princesses during their swayamvar and brings them to his kingdom in his chariot, so he's technically bound to marry them. But he did this out of blindly following his "duty", and said that he won the princesses for his impotent step-brother. Amba alone refused, went back to her lover Maharaj Shalva, now got rejected by her lover, and then asked Devrath to marry her which he adamantly refused due to his "duty" and his vow - so they're sort-of exes 😆 She finally does penance and gets a boon from Lord Shiva to take rebirth as the transgender Shikhandi, who's Draupadi's sibling, and she now helps to kill Bhishma in the Mahabharata war.
and the supposedly good step-mom Satyavati (Bhishma takes the ultimate sacrificial oath of never marrying for the sake of his father, step-mom and their kids, ensuring that the Kuru throne will only go to his step mom's children and their descendants).
Nice to see Devrath finding companionship at least in this version!
Hey! Brilliant take.
To be honest I was also reminded of Bhishma while watching Dev in the show. But now when you mentioned the story of Devrath and Amba, I see more parallels. I never connected the names 👏
I guess it is the way Dev's character is presented that reminded me of Bhishma, the stoic and calm way he deals with situations be it giving in to Amba's demand to be on his knees for his sister, the way reacts to everyone's assumptions/ criticism about giving his ring to Vidhi.
Now that you pointed it out I can see the mytho Amba in Amy mausi, who has a past with Dev and wants to settle an old score with him (probably Dev chose his family over her).
Anyways, there has been many shows in the past with the protective and loving brother who stands like rock for the family(which is filled with nalayaks of course), blackmailed and used in the name of familial bonds. So let us see how this story proceeds coz though I did like the first 3 episodes, I can already see the show is filled with negative characters. The plotting of these characters become too much to handle after a while.

Hello! Thank you! 🤗
Yes exactly! Dev's character, his way of behaving/talking, being self-assured, him not minding the assumptions people make about his age (he didn't mind when Vidhi called him uncle ji and when she referred to the girl in the photo as his daughter) - all these remind us of the grand old Kuru Mahamahim Devrath Bhishma. He worked so hard over so many years, single-handedly building the empire without enjoying the success - same here as well.
Devrath was so capable, so good, and so worthy - but just gave up everything so easily for his father's happiness. Dev's conversation with his father's photo also reflects this aspect I guess. Bhishma made many huge mistakes in life, but him giving up the throne and marriage altogether at such a young age is noteworthy. Such interesting characters don't come by often.
I'm fascinated by Amba - both the mytho one and the screen one here. She was definitely wronged and does have a past with him. He would have refused marriage with her or ended their relationship saying he has to fulfill his duty towards family. Sad but life happens. And her reactions may actually be justified in my opinion.
The original Amba finally got her revenge by helping to kill Bhishma during the war. The screen Amba seems to still like him and wanted to get back at him by denting his ego - making him go on his knees. Let's see what more this Amba does.
Vidhi's name is also interesting - it means destiny - maybe meaning that Vidhi is now Devrath's destiny? Devrath deserved to have a life of his own, and I'm glad to see that in fiction. Every character of the Mahabharata inspires so much thought and empathy because they're all so human.
As for the show, yeah I know. ITV tends to spoil things after a while by default 😆 Hoping it's good for a while at least and that they keep the characters grey, not outright negative planning and plotting
BTW, both Iqbal and Sneha are great actors and they make a great pair 😅
The promise made by Devrath was actually the turning point.. When you think about it after him the bloodline weakened and kind of went downhill in my opinion. Yeah there was Satyavati's sons, who were not of the calibre of Bhishma. Then when you really go deep into it the bloodline did end with Devrath (after the untimely death of his brothers) and what could have been the best for the *praja* was destroyed with his love for his father... the greater good was not taken into consideration. Actually in my POV Bhishma, did not knowingly wrong Amba. When he learnt the truth he did set her free.
I feel here though, they must have a more personal past. Is this the first time Sneha is doing a dark character? The vibes are indeed of a Vamp, the taunts, arrogance and the need to control.
Vidi, yes it would be interesting to explore the possibility of a different destiny for Dev. I was imagining the stoic and *not letting his emotions control him* Dev going fanaa in love, but the mytho connection kind of dampens it 😆
I am curious to see what changes the equation for Vidhi, for now she calls him *uncle*.

Well as per articles Dev was never in love with that psycho Amba 🤢...she loved him n wanted to marry him but get refused as hus priority was his family.
And Amba wants him back in her life by hook or crook...also when Dev n Vidhi love life come forward she ll become the vamp and vows to destroy their love as she can't take it
