SRK is still a global phenomenon, but he was not the first and hopefully won't be the last.

A global phenomenon who was detained at the airport as they couldn't recognize him 😆

Fun Fact - Bollywood had its best run in EVER in 2019, which was just 3 years back

It has nothing to do with nepos and non-nepos

If good movies are made, people will go and watch them. The real-life audience who actually buys tickets doesn't give a hoot about things like nepotism. They only care about the quality of the movie.

You guys must be watching different films to me, because I can't relate...

I have avoided the likes of Coolie No. 1 and Heropanti 2 and Sooryavanshi...

...and have thoroughly enjoyed films like: Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), Badhaai Do (2022), Jalsa (2022), Thar (2022), Gehraiyaan (2022), Do Baaraa (2022), Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022), Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi (2021), Mimi (2021), Atrangi Re (2021), Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021), Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2021), Toofaan (2021), Pagglait (2021), Sherni (2021), Rashmi Rocket (2021), Shershaah (2021), Sardar Udham (2021), 83 (2021).

bold = must watch

Personally, this is the/my best era of films. I like that we're (generally) much more focused on the story, and much less of random songs/comedy/action thrown in just to entertain the 5yo-99yo demographic like in the past.

Yes of course there are numerous BAD films today - but we have that in every decade. And according to me, previously the bad films were much much much worse than the trash of today.

The overall picture I'm seeing (as shown above) is that we are getting great content, from very talented directors, writers, and performers...

...like this year alone (and it's only July we have about 6-7 absolutely mind-blowing performances by the girlies, which is an absolute delight... 👏

Namely: Alia Bhatt & Seema Pahwa (Gangubai Kathiawadi) Bhumi Pednekar, Chum Darang, Sheeba Chaddha & Seema Pahwa (Badhaai Do) Vidya Balan & Shefali Shah (Jalsa) Deepika Padukone & Ananya Pandey (Gehraiyaan) Shalini Pandey (Jayeshbhai Jordaar) ❤️

C'mon.😆 Now you're being as silly as the OP.

Global phenomenon doesn't mean household name. BTW, people who didnt get recognized but are household names in the west include Miley Cyrus, Reese Witheespoon, even Mike Tyson.

But SRK is 100% a global phenomenon.
