That's the story I heard. Her mom kept her away from bachelors out of fear of losing the money if she got married. So see what happened.

Frankly I don’t understand this Rakhi sister term, I don’t know how people start treating anyone who they didn’t grow up with nor is family as their “sister”.

Not trying to defend what Boney and Sri did , as it was obviously wrong. But it was wrong regardless if he made her Rakhi sister or not, because he obviously didn’t think of her as his sister. If he ever did, he would never have had affair with her. You can go from being friends to partners but not from sibling to partner.

yes, she worked as a child artiste from the age of 5, father was not present, she did not know any world except cinema and a mother who controlled every aspect. sheer exploitation. I don't think she grew mentally and she was probably searching for a father figure all her life.

worst part, her siblings fought for her money after mother died

hema's mother was also the same, though she was not money minded she controlled and was very strict, hema had several suitors like sanjeev kumar, finally she rebelled and married dharmendra which was worse

the chain effect is that sanjeev stayed a bachelor and died broken hearted, sulakshana pandit (jatin-lalit's sis) was in love with sanjeev kumar, he did not reciprocate and she too remained single while dharam happily married twice
