They really should reduce ticket prices in general, so that helps. But the promotions for this film have been a mess. They have crammed 10k interviews, 4 songs and 2 trailers within a three week span in the middle of Brahmastra.

Anyhow, Ranbir doesn't really realize his own limits as an actor and star. No body comes to Ranbir to watch masala or action.

Shamshera Advance Off To A Decent Start

Shamshera has seen a decent early response to its advance and should take the best opening of 2022 for original Hindi content. The advance could also be the best in terms of collections although ticket sales may fall a little behind Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 as far as the major multiplexes are concerned but on the other side a lot of single screens dont even open advance and they will see better results than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 on day of release.

There is now fear and trepidation as soon as advance opens for a big release as many films have come and not seen any movement as far as ticket sales are concerned. In 2019 a few films notched up an advance of 10 crore nett which itself at that time was not huge but now that 10 crore number is tough and you take 5 crore worth of sales before release for a Hindi film. Its a different story for Hollywood who will struggle if advance is not there.

This same fear and trepidation would have been there as counters opened yesterday for Shamshera but thankfully there is some healthy movement and this will gather pace over the next few days with momentum being best on Thursday.

Shamshera is the first Ranbir Kapoor release since Sanju in 2018 and that should give the film a push especially in the North. Ranbir Kapoor is the only bonafide male star that the industry has managed to create in the last 20 years but no one can escape the changed business scenario and a film which would have been a sure shot 20 crore nett opener pre pandemic will have to settle for less but a 20 crore nett plus number will be a must on Sunday if the film is to have a chance of working at the boxoffice.
