Neeti Mohan can be a good change. I don't know how's she as a judge but she has judged shows before and is doing well with songs too.

Failing that Alka, Kavita could have been used. But Sony prefers more current singers I feel.
That leaves the 2nd tier of Monali, Akriti, Palak, Kanika, Neeti, Harshdeep etc. most of whom have history but little current work.
So, tough call. Neha, for all her shortcomings is hard to replace.

Btws, monali sucks as a judge - seen her in RS, the other 2nd tiers are no great shakes either. Palak, neeti slightly better.
How about Jonita?
If Sony wants current singers, then they can have Jubin, Jonita with HR . I guess we can’t get rid of HR anyways… HR is to reality shows as mask is to pandemic.

I so badly want to see Sonu Nigam back on the Idol panel. Sad, that he burnt his bridges there. 😔

One query about the auditions. Since this time they are doing ground auditions, so the experienced and popular participants will be selected directly for the TV round or they will have to through the whole process too?

Monali was so irksome in RS. She would always look at Shankar M & pretty much mouth the same comments. Diljit was better there.
But heck, where do these ppl take judging seriously like in the regional shows? TCT & Sony just want ornamental puppets to do their bidding.

They get backdoor entry. Separate audition of invited contestants.

Not sure if the process is the same after initial selection or if they can skip a few prelim rounds.
