I am sure this has been posted already. But after a long time, such a soothing OST. I am glad the show has a female voice singing some of it in the bg.

I didn’t realize the song was actually produced and then the rights were bought for the show. Really really hope they will be able to show the angst of the line -

“Kyun Tu nahi Kehta….Ke Tu Pyaar Karta”

Really waiting for our leads to go through this angst!!! Where they both fall in love with each other, but are unable to say, because of guilt, ego, pride, fear….the list goes on

Mai Na…Tum Na….Hum Na…

Contract marriage means that the terms of contract are laid out ..means he will have to tell her before shadi that it's temporary?

I am sure the falling in love phase will be good , bec they r getting married at the right time..epi 9 ..but the problem with current shows is that the middle epis r a total drag with nonsense scenes in between , the leads make a special appearance of sorts and in the last few epis they come to reconciliation and redemption..it happened in ishq e la ..they spoiled a beautiful story..but hopefully they won't repeat it here ..I have noticed humayun Saeed is a good producer ...his shows r good...I loved alif..I guess parizad was also from his ph

i think the terms of the marriage will be shown in the next episode - in the sense he is going to say something like “don’t expect love” the usual contract marriage trope. To me, what makes the story interesting is not the trope, but how beautifully they have built all the characters. They have created a world where love is the last thing anyone should expect. Aisha has her home to take care of, Hasit has the will and the hatred for his mother. His mother has redemption, her mother has bills. Love has no space and yet, every time they look at each other, with those eyes, they create small spaces where love can enter!!! This is really what attracts me to the show,

I totally agree with you on the dragging bit. In fact, I watched first few episodes and then jumped straight to the one from last week. IEL they totally ruined it. I hope this slow burn satisfies that yearning for us. On one hand I would like to see Bano and Zoya story too, but on the other, I don’t want no lead scenes at all or sprinkles of them and then we are left to imagination as to how they really fell for each other. The makers took 3 episodes to tell us Bano loves someone, her mother is not big fan, her lover is moving on. Same way, pls spend 3 episodes, showing us how are they actually falling for each other.

You know what, I realised while rewatching the episode, that this the first time in a long while that I've seen physical flaws in the leads of a drama. Feroze has had a pimple on his cheek which they haven't covered with makeup or added any filter over during editing. Ushna LOOKS like a woman who is lower middle class. She sweats, has her hair in a bun and looks pretty dull when she travels or is in her small, dark, home. That's how real people look. In the last scene between bano and Ayesha, bano was sweating on her upper lip and both looked how we normal people look at the end of a long day. Tired. No makeup.

This is such a difference when compared to the white as snow, fresh as Daisies look female leads have in dramas, irrespective of the circumstances. The male leads as well, always perfectly groomed and gelled. Never a hair out of place. I'm so glad that this drama shines light on the characters instead of just the actors. Which, despite loving their work, I have felt many times with roles played by Ayeza, Minal, Affan, Hira and Feroze as well.

@ bold - absolutely! This is what I love about the show too. It’s one of the reasons why I started watching the show, because in the promo, Hasit’s smile as he watches his wife put on her lipstick is very very real. It’s a very very intimate thing between a couple. When my bhabhi and Bhaiya go for a movie, he will say, “Jaldi lipstick lagaa ke aajao, chalenge” he is teasing her, but he is also showing that he observes when she does it. This is real intimacy. To show real is to be able to show intimacy without vulgarity, and vulgar isn’t just skin show, sometimes vulgar is also associated with unreal, OTT, too much of everything - make up, characterization etc.

@bold italic - could not have said it better!!! For me it’s not the actors, it’s absolutely the characters that are staying with me.
