Shankar has fed lies n falsely accused Gunyun n Garima whole life, so that he emerges as a very sorted man to his daughter.

He built this very negative image of Gungun in Akriti's mind. Gungun aisi hai, Gungun waisi hai... that Akriti felt herself to be a superior person compared to Gungun. N hence, she deserves Anubhav, instead of Gungun.
