Tell me, what's happening? What's sindoor and MS drama?

Just a normal example

When people talk about breaking stereotypes but they think making fun of these customs instead of not taking part of it is cool.

I just said ki breaking stereotypes means making either of the gender stay away from that thing and not making males do it.

So yeh ek example tha

Cannot entirely blame any one of them.

Stereotypes have been built over time (decades if you will). Things are changing, no doubt, people are reasoning and rationalizing, but there will always be people who will not change or try to stop them, influence or pull them back.

I guess we are in that phase now.

Look at television/shows worldwide.

1. Tell me one show on television/webseries where the male characters are significant or a story revolving around them? On the contrary, women are shown to be either this bechaari halaat ki mari, sab kuch jhelnewali or this scheming, plotting, planning and powerful king makers.

Be it "Game of thrones", "House of Cards", or our very own drama series.

Don't you think this is a dangerous precedent?

2. It's ALL about Looooooove or the lack of it. The sacred institution of marriage and family has been butchered to no end, so much so, it has become a joke.

Hence shows such as these have a hope of viewing something different and to break these myths. However, when they too fall prey to this vicious cycle, one can't help but only hope for the next show to stand up strong atleast for a little longer.

But then one wonders is it as simple to sustain the change?

Every show today just shows EMA and people fighting with each other. 🤦🏻‍♀️

True. But when a show has such a promising premise.. a military academy, they should have balanced things. When Sanju fought with the society- her village to be a soldier, there is no point of her going back to her village (except vacation or some emergency). Param - a so-called terrorist at this point gets a change of heart - makes no sense.

Very dangerous indeed. The MLs are "not" important but everything the FLs do is for/about the ML. And then she has nothing else to do. I want powerful queens who are just powerful for their own sake.

Haan, the endless marriages, same person different person and coming back to old one EMA - uff .. same story everywhere. Family - classic all good or all terrible members. Mostly joint families. No grey characters, all black n white. Holier than thou FLs, who can never be wrong and MLs will believe everyone but their SO.

There's always hope.. I did start the show with no expectations but then the first few episodes promised so much and then it didn't even fall flat it landed into a pothole. Last few episodes, no idea how deep the pit is gonna be.

But then one wonders is it as simple to sustain the change?

It should not be that difficult.. at least stick to the background you've created, we don't mind occasional romance but "occasional" and not all the time.

Hoping for better shows.. two decades in 21st century. The 20th century shows were better.

Cannot agree more. Wonder when we moved away from "Sensible" shows to these meaningless crap.

Seriously, such serious and sensitive issues were handled with such care. Comedy too was clean. The saas bahu drama has taken over our jokes too imagine. Like really?

Sensible to meaningless crap happened with the daily episodes, back when they would have 2-3 episodes per week, stuff was better.

Exactly.. they did a good job, the domestic violence was also well portrayed. But yesterday - after an entire year of training (Baby birthday 1&2) why couldn't Koel fight back? She didn't even push Abhay, she was better with two months of training kicking him and leaving but this..

This! She's going to be a commando right? Running away from problems isn't going to help. I can understand her trauma but she's the same Koel who fought back and made Abhay go to jail. So , her behavior now is honestly illogical and I think they are trying to make her the damsel in distress for a few episodes.

She fought against Kundan and KD but can't do the same with Abhay?
