Bigamy is marrying second time without divorcing the first one. It has nothing to do with consummation.

Consummation will add second clause of Adulatory in offence section. Bigamy +Adulatory == More punishment for 2 offenses.

Punishment of Bigamy according to IPC 😌

Section 494 of the IPC explicitly mentions the offence of bigamy. It states that whoever despite having a husband or a wife living, marries again during the lifetime of such husband or wife shall be liable to punishment which may extend up to seven years of imprisonment or fine.

Since Aditya married Malini without disclosing the first marriage his punishment will be 👇

In case the person charged of bigamy has performed the second marriage by concealing the fact of first marriage, then he shall be punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years or fine or both. Such offence under section 495 is not compoundable.
