Coming from a humongous joint family on both side mine and my husband.. In joint families that’s not how it works. In fact staying together is harder but that’s what happens and fight for the hardest route!!

Some days I truly understand why Virat goes silent or doesn’t argue with elders, irrespective of how irrelevant or insane the ideas elders have. Now we stay away from family coz of work location but Till date we don’t argue with our elders be it father or brother or sister. It’s in built in us to respect; Matlab kuch bhi ho and definitely not argue in situations like today when BK came up to Mandap. Haaan after that we can go and put our points of view with hope that they will understand. Many times other family members support and convince them.

On a serious note I had a hunch yhe hoga virat is someone who deals situation diplomatically like in initial episodes he dealt with his mom and kaku he never raises questions prior Sai entering this pagalkhana but I seriously want him to take a stand for Sai now she cannot be called names jungli mulgi and stuff I really felt bad for sai today she really could not enjoy her marriage this time too

I get it. And in the past its been fine to do that. but sometimes given that it is ITV and not real life, its best to use the plot to give a proper messaging. Its not like GHKKPM is a very realistic show! Its the most unrealistic crap and exaggerated stuff. So why suddenly pretend as if they are all extrermely realistic.

And its not an easy option for V to leave his family. Afterall ITV mein toh talking about leaving joint family and going away is a big deal. So why not do that to send a good message. He could have become hero, done dialoguebaazi too....Why not show him take a tough stance. Yeh har baar Sai ke time pe hi fuski bomb kyun hojaata hai?!

I was thinking of that yesterday that they could use this as platform for social issues. But then Ghum has never been that show. It has never been about social messaging…

the other top show I used to love it because of the social messages but now even that has turned to be love fest and nothing else. I was so waiting for the lead to have her own business blah blah but they had to get love stories. Anyways…

I mean this is such a great issue to higlight- the fact that women always bear the brunt. Either they are expected to give up their careers and education for marriage and they have regrets of what their career could have been if it werent for family obligations and on the flip side, the women that focus on their careers -will suddenly find themselves on the wrong side of 20- have delays and trouble in finding a partner and making a family because they are too old and too career oriented. Har situation mein stress hai. I know the latter feeling personally. My parents are most supportive of my career but now that I am 29-30 and unmarried they are panicking about me "settling down" . SO basically this has potential for a great plot.

I would have accepted the theory that V is just buying time and is trying to focus on one thing at a time- getting married first and then dealing with the rest later, etc if they had consistently shown ghum as a very realistic show. but its not so. So when they do high voltage drama at all times then why not do that now, why not show the ML as this hero who is willing to walk out of his home just to support his wifes dreams and career.

Is the high voltage drama , exaggerated dialoguebaazi only limited to negative , cringe and toxic content and not for positive things like a husband taking a stand for his wifes career.

Yeh silent support aur khufiya plans to be made at later date ke bajaaye, why not show him speak up.

Social messaging only works for a while and not for every episode. Ghum has been very clear right since the beginning that this show is not for all that.
