Still want clarity on how the leaderboard is set and on what basis?

Quoting from the first rule topic:

The game is very simple... We have hidden 50 eggs throughout our website and we will be sharing clues with you on the contest page and you have find that page and click on the egg to record your catch and that will keep the contest leaderboard updated so that all participants can see who is leading the contest.

I see the names on the leaderboard keep changing so want to know on what basis is that being done if more or less everyone is able to get the set number of eggs each day.
