Every time I read a post about BTS, used to think it's behind the scenes and got confused

Okay, I read the storyline of both movies 'Naseeb Apna Apna' and the original Tamil movie

Think I have seen parts of the movie and for a change the hero doesn't end up with both wives but in the Hindi version one of the wives shoots herself? Why?
