Thank god finally someone said about the band. It is horrible. Arunita should not do the concert with that kind of music system anymore as it is not suitable for her primary singing style at all. Im keen to enjoy her versatility but I don't want her to keep singing such songs and avoid her special melodies. That band is totally ruining her part. Im tired of listening their loud music. They need to learn a lot to play for this kind of singing.
To be fair, the fault lies less with the band, and more with the song selection and the music re-arrangement plus sound mixing.
The song selection has more of high scale songs and less of the mellow ones, forcing her to sing much higher than she normally does. Sometimes you can see her strain herself too. That is one thing for Rosario and co. to fix.
The other is the music rearrangement plus sound mixing. Because this is usually not the original instrumentation of the song, the music is rearranged as per these instruments - and it is up to the curator (mostly Rohit or Choklate in the shows so far) to choose the right instrumentation. The choice of whether Paras plays his guitar the way Ronnie Satamkar does or the way a rock guitarist would play with the overdrive pedal and metal pedal and so on, lies with the person in charge of the rearrangement. Paras is a sessions guitarist - he will do what he is told to do, because the alternative for him is that he will not get to do anything at all. Likewise, the instructions to the sound mixing engineer - how much emphasis to be given to vocals versus the rock-style guitar versus the bass guitar. The bass guitar really needs to be much more subtle. It has to be something you miss if it is absent, but don't notice if it is present. Here, the bass is quite prominent. Here again, it is up to Rohit / Choklate / any in that role to instruct the sound engineer about what is required.
