Hello!
Chapter 4 is here! A big THANK YOU to everyone who has been so kind with their comments and feedback. I haven’t been able to reply but I’ve been reading all the comments and this chapter is inspired by something one of you said about Meet beating Kunal; I just spun it a little in my way. I literally wrote this in an hour and haven’t edited or proof read so please excuse any mistakes! We’re really getting into it now. Meet A and Meet H are such delights to write!
Comments and feedback are always welcome! 😊
Until next time!
Cheers,
Nupur

Chapter 4
Meet considered himself to be an adventurous guy, always up for a thrill. He had liked taking risks and doing impulsive things when he was in college and it was usually Kunal and Tej who had had to control him and talk him out of doing stupid things, like getting a tattoo of his ex-girlfriend, or wanting to try jumping off the roof of their house when he was drunk because he thought he was secretly Superman.
But of all the stupid things he had done in his life, this was by the far the stupidest. He was standing outside Manushi’s house at 1am with Kunal, the night before the official engagement ceremony trying to talk his brother out of scaling the walls of her house.
It had started off with Kunal and Manushi’s nightly phone call when Kunal had in a very Romeo move stated that he wanted to meet Manushi that very moment and had somehow wrangled Meet into accompanying him. The entire drive from Chandigarh to Shahbad had just been Meet trying to convince Kunal that this was a horrible idea. They had not said anything to Tej, because if Sunaina had found out, all the Ahlawat brothers would have gotten their asses handed to them. So Meet shut his mouth and prayed that they didn’t get caught.
Meet was still hoping that Kunal would lose his nerve but his brother was instead climbing the pipe to Manushi’s balcony. Even though it was dark, Meet could see a light on in the balcony and the silhouette of who he assumed was Manushi, waiting for Kunal.
Laila Majnu ke chakkar mein main marr jaunga ek din, he thought to himself. He raised the torch on his phone to make things a bit easier for Kunal. Kunal was just about to climb into the balcony when Meet heard a loud whack and the next thing he knew Kunal was on the ground next to him writhing in pain.
“Kunal!” he half yelled.
“Kya hua? Tu gira kaise?” he asked.
“Yaar pata nahi kya hua” Kunal exclaimed.
Meet was just helping Kunal get up and was checking him for injuries when the main door of the house swung open and revealed a person who was quickly becoming too much of a coincident in Meet’s life.
“Niklo yahan se! Bade aaye aadhi raat ko ladki ke kamre mein ghusne waale. Tum dono ko toh main chodne nahi waali. Abhi police bulaati hoon! Chori karne aur ladkiyon ko chedne ka bada shauk hai na, ab nikaalti hoon saare shauk!”
Before Meet could react, he could just feel blows being rained on him and Kunal with a cricket bat. The little spitfire of a girl would not stop hitting them. Meet and Kunal fell back onto the ground as she started alternating between beating them with the bat and kicking them.
“MEET!” another female voice exclaimed from the back.
She turned around and it gave Meet and Kunal the moment they needed to get up and make a run for it. But before they could, the same female voice spoke up again, more urgently this time.
“Meet! Ruk! Kya kar rahi hai?! Yeh Kunal hai! Maarna band kar aur dheere bol, nahi toh pura mohalla aa jaayega!” she explained.
Meet A saw the moment recognition settled onto Meet H’s face and she put two and two together. He also saw the moment she looked at him and realised who she had been beating up.
She looked between Kunal and Manushi as if looking for confirmation and banged her palm against her forehead.
“Sorry jiju… par yun aadhi raat ko choron ki tarah kaun aata hai! Manne kya sapne mein aayega ki aap ho” she said.
Kunal, who had been silent until then, couldn’t help but chuckle and start laughing. The whole situation was hilarious to him.
“Manushi tum sahi thi. Tumhari behen, behen kam bhai zyada hai…” he said laughing.
“Nahi pata tha toh pata hona chahiye tha! Faltu mein mujhe aur mere bhai ko maar pad gayi” Meet exclaimed miffed.
He was very surprised that Kunal was laughing this off, but he was still in shock that he had just been beaten up by a girl half his size.
Meet H who had been looking mildly apologetic and sheepish until then suddenly looked like she was going to start beating Meet A again.
“Maar khaane ke kaam karoge toh maar hi padegi. Agli baar kisi ladki ke ghar ke saamne raat ko khade rehne ki galti toh nahi karoge… kya pata manne pata chal jaaye aur main phir maarne aa jaun” she said.
The condescension in her tone rubbed Meet A the wrong way and all he wanted to do was shake some sense into her, but he stopped himself from doing so. It would only escalate the situation. Ignoring her, he chose to address Kunal instead.
“Kunal, main gaadi mein wait kar raha hoon… jaldi aa” he said in clipped tone. Turning to face Manushi, he softened a bit.
“It was nice to meet you. Hopefully kal better situation mein properly milenge”
Saying that he started walking towards his car when he heard Meet H behind him.
“Haan kal milte hain Jiju ke bhai. Kal choron ki tarah khidki se nahi, shareefon ki tarah darwaaze se aana!” she called out.
Rolling his eyes, Meet A took a deep breath and continued walking towards the car. This girl was getting under his skin and he was going to need a lot of patience to deal with her over the next few days. Kal se aadha ghanta extra meditation karna padega, he thought to himself.
