Plot : D.P. stands for Deserters Pursuit

Plot is simple D.P. are the ones who captures deserters.... Private soldier Jun Ho is a confused youth who served in the military normally like other Koreans.... One day, he suddenly becomes a member of the military defector arrest team. As such, he is tasked with capturing deserters and must grapple with the more troubling cases of why some soldiers feel they have no other choice but go absent without official leave.

In each epi they solves 1 new case, in total they showed 5 cases in 6 episodes.

4 out of 5 were only bcz of military abuse, bullying & sexual & mental harrasment

This drama showed very darker side of korean military

Last case made me teary eyed.... D.P. are like police & deserters are like criminal yet i end up sympathizing with deserters more than D.P. only bcz most of them fled from military only bcz abuse, bullying, harrasment.

Last case showed difficult life of Cho suk-bong in military. He went through alot in military. He was former national judo athlete, he quits judo bcz he wasnt comfortable with hurting other people.... After his military service he wanted to become comic book artist & teach students. Evn before joining military he used to taech & his students used to call him "Mr.BONGDHI". (Bongdhi means Bong + Gandhi)..... He was saint but military made him terrorist.

His seniors bullied him, sexually harrassed him, abused him, tortured him yet he didnt utter word until one day one of his bullies jang-soo discharged from military.

After his discharge soon suk-bong assaulted one of the bully & deserted the army. Unable to forgot harrasment suk bong went on a vengeful pursuit to kill Jang-soo.

Soon after his desertion he kidnaps Jang-soo and took him to the air-raid shelter beneath the tunnel in Gangwon Province. SDT (special duty team), Korean Police, and Sergeant Park found out Suk-Bong’s location through an SOS signal sent Jang-soo through a mobile phone.... The police officers tried to catch Suk-Bong but he tricked them.

Jang-soo fled from Suk-Bong’s claws and ran out towards the tunnel. Suk-Bong followed him with a gun he retrieved from the police officer to finish off Jang-soo.... But before Suk-Bong could commit the felony Ho-Yul (second ML) arrived at the tunnel and tried to stop him.

Ho-Yul convinced Suk-Bong that things would change in the army, to which Suk-Bong satirically answered, “They won’t even change the canteens. An entire army is out of the question”.... Joon Ho (main ML) reminded Suk-Bong of his “Mr. Bongdhi” legacy and how he helped a student, Seon-a, get into college.... The revelations melted Suk-Bong’s rigid decision for a moment but SDT arrived and surrounded him.... Suk-Bong got paranoid and realized that there wasn’t a way out now.

In the end, Suk-Bong said that his students would no longer call him “Mr. Bongdhi".... He had come too far and thus won’t let his death go in vain, He wanted things to change, and he was determined to do something.... To leave an example, Suk-Bong shot himself. However, his fate wasn’t revealed, as the military didn’t announce Private Cho’s condition.... He lived or died, remained a mystery until the end.

Acting : ML jung Hae-In did decent job portraying D.P. Ahn Joon-Ho.

Second ML Koo Kyo-Hwan gave some really good comic relief to dark, gritty military based korean drama. His performance was on point.

The actor who stole show with just 2 epi is none other than Jo Hyun-Chul. He portrayed character of military police Cho Suk-Bong. His transition from saint to terrorist was amazing to watch. He made me teary eyed throughout last 2 epi by his amazing performance.

Evn though he become criminal at the end of show but i couldnt stop myself from rooting for him. I just wanted him to kill every one in the show and get justice for himself.... I wouldn't have even cared if he had killed both MLs.... But in the end he sacrificed himself to bring some changes in military

By the way tbh ye 6-8 episodes wale kdramas mujhe kdramas ki tarah lagte hi nahi. They give me regular 8 episode web series vibes because there's no grandeur. Jabki 10-20 episodes wale shows mein ek kdrama vibe rehta hai. 😗
