I agree with your general take here about women and Bollywood. However I think in Navya’s case the obstacle is her own family and not the industry. Had her family been supportive filmmakers would have tripped all over each other trying to launch her. Assuming she really did want to join films. She seems happy now in her nonprofit ventures. But yea looking at Shweta’s past comments and how things are playing now it all is very sexist. At least she’s not marrying Navya off the way her parents did to her at 23.

I have a feeling that Navya's father's business might be the reason she is not venturing out in movies. May be her father might want her to be part of family business. Her brother might not be that capable.

Maybe Navya just isn't interested in films? Because judging by the way she dresses, the groups she moves in, and the groups her mom herself moves in Nandas definitely aren't socially conservative/traditional, even by BW standards (as many people here seem to think for some reason).
