I feel ya, Betty. Pretty much exactly how I feel about governments giving out handouts. Probably because I grew up seeing the extent of the abuse. I’d have my shitty ass Nokia phone and the kids claiming benefits had the new iPhone, play stations, Wii etc. Used to make me so mad, and honestly still does! A lot of their parents had cash in hand jobs. So contrary to popular belief, just because I believe healthcare is a basic necessity, I’m not a big fan of socialism lol

We really talking about broomsticks here, what even?😆The American military never does anything out of the goodness of its heart, history has shown that hasn’t it? Wherever they go, they go because it would benefit them/NATO, please don’t be fooled to think they’re doing it for the greater good.

Congrats on your innovation, my guess is the average citizen in Europe would rather have free healthcare at any given point than innovation. No point having a driverless Tesla if you’re too sick to drive it, eh?😛

P.S. ah, yes the lines are solid proof about the results of this survey.

Who says it's about greater good?

It's not.

But bottomline is most of Europe has no defense worth speaking of.

Bottomline is they rely on the U.S. for protection.

Bottomline is they use the cash they should've spent on their defense in paying for other things.

You claimed other countries have resources to provide healthcare. I'm just telling you how they have resources. The data is out there for you to verify.

And yeah, average European prefers ro be taken care of. The average American prefers to be treated like an adult with his/her own agency.

Why should I or anybody else pay for somebody else' drug addiction?

I don't see it as paying for someone else's drug addiction. I see it as investing for a safe and healthy society where I can thrive.

Drug addicts receiving rehabilitation means

- Fewer drug-related crimes

- Fewer unsafe drug-addled neighborhoods (which usually results in property values increasing for the whole city and putting more equity in my pocket)

- Less clogging up of healthcare and security resources for drug-related service calls

- Less demand and consequently fewer drug cartels

- Fewer channels of drug exposure to me and my loved ones

- More competent productive employees in the workforce

- More children having safe families and a better future

There is data from places that have had state-sponsored rehabilitation and reaped overall benefits.

I don't buy pure altruism. No one should be expected to pay for something unless they get something in return for it. I am reasonably selfish as the average human and I would like to keep my hard-earned income for nice things for myself. But I think most social welfare schemes actually have benefits for society at large. Once I am a multimillionaire and can live an insulated life from the challenges and woes of general society - I can safely stop caring.

Haan yaar, Europe’s defense is shitty, I think Muricans should vote next time to stop funding Europe’s defense.😡that way America can prosper even more and have the best innovation ever.👍🏼

Now let’s all bow down to America for allowing Europe to have free medical healthcare.Damn Europeans expecting their tax money to take care of them. What idiots.

Nobody wants that

But it's the truth isn't it that America is subsidizing for Europe's socialist medicine...

America has spent billions on training and equipment in Europe

Being sarcastic doesn't change that

Bold - Not sure about that

Most celebrities - HW folks, politicians even the buffett & gates are multi millionares, billionaires but they support social welfare schemes

They're hell bent on making America a welfare state

Cz they, their family and descendants can live an insulated life, not affected in anyway by the challenges and woes brought on by those schemes

I can’t seem to emphasise this enough - America doesn’t just do things out of the goodness of their hearts. They won’t give their citizens free healthcare, you think they’d willingly subsidise medicine to Europe? Pharma companies only care for their bottom line, it’s just that places like Aus and Europe have much better drug regulators.
You want to know the main difference? It’s that unlike Aus and most of Europe, the US has no government panel that negotiates drug prices. You can’t possibly blame Europe for that too? I still remember seeing ads for drugs on TV in the States, it was truly wild that there were ads on TV telling viewers to lobby to get their drugs approved.

This is a great little article to read - https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/science-and-health/2016/11/30/12945756/prescription-drug-prices-explained

If you don’t have insurance here or bad insurance then you better pray for good health like your life depends on it, because it does. Some people here ration their insulin or BP medication because they can’t afford their copay or don’t have insurance at all and have to chose between insulin or rent, and yes people do die because of this. Some people avoid cardiologists or other specialists because they cannot afford their copay or their deductibles are too high and yes people do die due to lack of preventative care. The ones that don’t die reach a point of life threatening situation and have to be rushed to an emergency room. Assuming they make it through that life threatening situation and don’t die in the emergency room, they then get their medical bills. Separate bills from the ER, the Hospital, the different doctors that come and see them, the ambulance ride, and then they go into massive debt.

You have to read my post in the context of the post that I was replying to. I said America makes sure a dying patient is attended to. Nowhere did I make claims about America having. an optimal healthcare system!
