No matter what she says, she’s at his whim and she’s miserable. I think that scene just shows how they’re both losing and unhappy in the situation they’re in.

In my post I talked about how Aryan is becoming a part of Imlie but the opposite is also true. It’s been true for a while that Imlie is a part of who he is and like Narmada says, when he lets his revenge destroy the purity of his soul and consume him, he’s also letting it consume Imlie, consume the part of him that’s Aryan&Imlie and that affects them both in ways that’s indescribable. At the end of the day, he and Imlie will be more destroyed that Aditya Tripathi will ever be of this badla.

Idc if he “used” Imlie to hurt Aditya but by bringing her closer to himself, by bringing their relationship into the mix, he’s made her collateral damage.

very good observation!! I think this is where we have to see who (first move)and how many steps they move towards each other to stop destroying each other! I am still stuck in his dream where the initial two things need to play out - her calling him partner and her saying that she will save him from himself!

So they have to understand each other and meet mid-way and as a result his quest for revenge will become secondary to his quest for getting her love. She will too understand his reasons, emotions more when she sees him in the real sense.

All we need is patience i guess and hope that the story moves forward in the right direction with less drag!!

This. Yes. Yes. Thank you. I was looking through Twitter all day, baffled by just how wrongly this scene was interpreted by most as the beginning of Imlie’s “discovery of her sexuality”. You get it exactly. ❤️

Yes, their intimacy makes her feel a certain way. Yes, she finds herself lost in those "bura ankhein" of his. But more than both of those things, she's pleading to him to reveal himself to her. She saw his wounds, she knows how he got them, and she's mad that he stayed silent about them like he stays quiet about everything else cause look where his silence got him. Imlie let a tear fall as she applied Haldi to his back cause his pain was hurting her, too. She was frustrated in that scene, with her life and with him. Acc no, because of him and how hard he is to work with.

He says she doesn't see him, and sometimes that's true, but that's also your fault. You've closed yourself off and yet, you blame her. Why?

Precisely where it's getting uncomfortably in the gaslighting territory for me. He INTENDS for her to perceive him a certain way, and is hurt when she does, making her doubt her own expense of events. Everything else I can maybe write off as "desperate times calling for desperate measures". His plan is dumb af, but of he's convinced that becoming the bad guy in her story is the only way to save her from herself, well then, commit to it! Don't act hurt if she perceives you as the bad guy.

I think the attempt is to parallel this to when Imlie walked out on Aditya, when he asked her for the same assurance, that she didn't try to kill Malini. But where that parallel is falling apart for me is that Malini was being manipulative there, and Imlie was the one who was burdened by accusations. Here, Aryan is both, so it's hard for me to empathize with him- this entire mess is of your making, and can be cleaned up with a single sentence. You're choosing not to 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you want to be the villain in her story, go for it. It's a poetic idea, really, poetic and stupid. Don't make it stupider by giving her mixed signals. Don't act hurt if she perceives you as the bad guy.

That's the irony of it all, they're right where Adilie ended. Except, he's not letting her go while Aditya did.

In a relationship, you have to be free to make your own mistakes and choices but he's caging her.

And there’s a huge contrast between both these situations. People are missing that degree of difference. Imlie was married to Aditya. As his wife, it’s her fundamental right to expect that her husband trusts her without needing evidence/proof. It’s a vow you make to someone when you marry them. On the other hand, what relationship does Imlie share with Aryan? Well, according to him (which he doesn’t fail to reiterate at every given opportunity), it’s merely that of an employer and employee. Imlie has been the one one-sidedly referring to him as her friend. Neither has he denied it, nor has he accepted it. Emotionally, he always keeps her at an arm’s length. He goes out of the way to make himself an enigma to her. In this case, how is it unfair of her to expect reassurance from him? Where is the parallel here?

Lol, all of this.

It boils down to this whole track being so terribly written, Aryan's monologues about "doing it for her own good" come across as ridiculous and paternalistic. He's kinda pushed her into freefall, and snatching away anything she can cling on to break the fall, and telling her that there is no safety net at the bottom, and then offended when falling is scaring her. And he's supposed to be the smart one!

I kinda wish at this point we get another classic Gul trope of a bride who runs away from her wedding 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m okay with the fact that the wedding is happening. But I’m not sure what purpose these little wins over her in between is serving. He didn’t absolutely have to apply colour to her. That wasn’t doing anything to help/stop the wedding. He could have let her have that one. By pushing it, he only caused more hurt for her and regret for himself. I felt embarrassed and in a way, mocked, on Imlie's behalf.

Yeah it's...a mess. He seems to want to keep her engaged in battles with him to distract her from the Tripathis? Idk, it's confusing. But it's..not working. In fact in this entire mess, she's just gone like "OMG this family is so good why is Aryan trying to hurt them" which was so avoidable 🤦🏻‍♀️

From what I can gather, he's pushing her into all these challenges to get her to fight. He doesn't see, I think, that she's just getting further resigned because she actually hasn't fought back at all? For all her claims of rather DYING than marrying him, what has she done? This mehndi thing will be the first but even that's so irrelevant. She hasn't tried to tell anyone the truth, hasn't tried to run away. She's got no fight in her on this. And Aryan thinks his plan's working and she is fighting back because Aunty Blue is doing things like the fake pandit, and the truck stowaway, and he's attributing those efforts to her.

But also, making her fight him, hate him, why? Strengthening her ties to the Tripathis by having her in a position to sacrifice for their sake, why? Making AKT an innocent victim by framing him for a fake crime when dude has done enough real ones, why?

🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️
