Sumbul’s Holi look was absolutely gorgeous, and loved the happy imlie we got for this day ❤️

Uff, ikr?! Wayyy too much (poorly written) angst and misery 😭 happy Imlie was a delight to see on Saturday! And Sumbul was a vision to behold hopefully more soon!

Key word poorly written 😭 that makes the misery even more frustrating!

I have my own set of major problems with the way her character gets written, but those are all on hold with how vulnerable and confused my girl seems aaj kal :(

What I am waiting for (I know it’s a long wait yet but I want it so bad I’ll be daydreaming it 😂) and would love to see is the sequences where imlie is falling in love and realises it, accepts it, sumbul will be a delight to watch and the joy imlie would be feeling 😩♥️ Also waiting to see her be a self assured person once more, she’s been too beaten down now, from her childhood to more so with the Ts and Cs the past year that she finds it hard to believe in any good thing she gets. If they ever give us an episode dedicated to her accepting the love she gets and becoming self confident again, so much of her tripathi worship and saviour complex is her need for constant validation, for her to realise she doesn’t need anyone else’s validation and that she is worthy of what love she gets, that’d become my new favourite.

These shots were beautiful! The use of the negative spaces is brilliant. They both look gorgeous. Loved ST’s pouty expressions 😂

Poorly written is the crux of the problem 😭 I'm a huge sucker for angst but what's going on right now is plain annoying frankly.

Agreed, my list of issues with Imlie's character, as it's written, is endless, but also inconsequential right now because I just wanna wrap her up in a blanket and give her a mug of hot cocoa and ship her somewhere far far away from every person she's ever met because they all seem terrible for her mental health (including her own mom who seems to not even notice the fact that her daughter is miserable and hasn't stopped crying for a minute, not the usual expected behavior of a newlywed bride, but hey, she's been relegated to fangirl territory, so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️)

I agree, the entire subservience is a manifestation of insecurity and just, zero self worth. The issue with this track being that it's supposedly addressing that issue but I can't for the life of me fathom how and why.

I'd love to see her be happy and self assured and falling in love (and enjoying the process of falling in love!) but it all seems so distant right now 😭😭 I'm gonna live in the Holi episode till things get more... palatable, I guess.

Agree with everything! Meethi has always been not very receptive to imlie’s pain but right now she’s so happy in her own dreams she had for imlie she’s not even bothering to ask how everything came to this.

Bold: ugh yes! I am not able to comprehend how any of this is for her and how it would save her or help her tbh, she’s explained her part clearly now and he’s seen how her whole life broke down her self esteem so I don’t get what he’ll achieve by this when she keeps asking again and again saying she’ll let it all go if she just gets one reassurance she wasn’t used for some ulterior motives. I would get aryan more if imlie were any other girl but she’s someone who has faced abuse since childhood, her self esteem issues shouldn’t be dealt this way of all ways come on. I am so sure even they don’t know where they’re going with this, watch the end of this track be super anticlimactic 😭

I am sooo glad gul gave itv the gem that is Sumbul Toqueer Khan! This scene was well done, beautiful and poignant in so many ways but sumbul’s subtle changes in expressions how she expressed imlie’s turmoil made it even better! They should add more shades and character traits for imlie, she’ll ace them too, the range this girl has 🔥

Yeah I'm personally not fond of Meethi. I've not seen the first 300 epis, full disclosure, just skimmed and read recaps. But you have to wonder how Imlie learned all these self-damaging beliefs, somewhere you have to hold the primary caregiver responsible when an 18 year old child has such a messed up world view. Particularly her reverence of sindoor and marriage and sasural, to an extent of servitude even in the face of abuse, it seems to perhaps come from a mom who craved those symbols of marriage and suffered in their absence for so long.

And I mean, even up to New Years Eve- when Aditya was already married to Malini and expecting a child with her, she was calling Imlie and telling her things like "he's calling for you in his drunk state"- come on Meethi! Don't do that to your daughter. Then two days later, tokenistic advice of "oh, live for you not for him" and then a few days later being totally onboard with Imlie paying off the Tripathis' loan. She's hardly a support system to fall back on. She loves Imlie, sure, but she doesn't read Imlie and doesn't know how to have her back/give her the correct advice.

Oh they have no clue where they're going with this, and they'll go nowhere. They're writing to TRP, so I hope it dips a bit further and they get the message to just end this godforsaken (and logic-forsaken) track ASAP.
