I totally missed the deeper significance of the light at the end. Would you say Riley was sort of a surrogate Christ figure?

Yes the Muslim sheriff and his son praying at the end was very touching.

Not offensive, for sure, my brother loved it, but disturbing, in a way for me atleast. But I did love a lot about Midnight Mass, especially how Riley, the guy who was condemned to be a bad guy was actually the purest soul and how the ending was nerve-wracking where everyone accepts they did wrong and awaits the light of the Lord to wash them.

The muslim touch was magical, where the boy prays with his father, the father dies first and then the son, and of course, the torture of the woman who did not want to die and kept burying in the sand to hide herself.

The ending was good, ngl, but I could not connect to this one.

I have a hard time now to trust people/humans with my feelings, i am way too cynical about life lately and the only human I prefer to tell stuff is my therapist and psychiatrist (whom I pay so I know they are interested lmaoooo)

Not more Christ, but more like how Christians should be. The ones who love the Lord, but are willing to accept that they are wrong, ready to forgive, seek forgiveness and move on.

I mean, there is a reason it is called CHRISTians isn't it?

The part where the entire congregation sings the song, Neared my God to Thee, the ending hymn, that is funeral classic song and it always makes me feel some way.

Believe it or not, I suspect many of us here feel similarly and that's why we spend so much time on here... There's an unusual comfort in connecting to strangers who expect nothing from us (except maybe a deep dislike of JIJAJI🤣)

Yes that makes a lot of sense.

My family is Hindu but I went to a parochial school for a while. It was an uncomfortable experience for me as most of my classmates were diehard Irish and Italian catholics and I stood out like a sore thumb. But both Nearer my God to Thee and Amazing Grace always moved me deeply.

Like did Devaki deliberately give Krishna away to some crappy family where he had an infinitely worse life than he would have had with his own family? No? That's what i thought🤔 It was like Shubham was brought in just to pave the way for the eventual separation that led to the Bombay track.

And by the way, I always wondered is it THAT easy for anyone to suddenly become a professor in a major Indian college? Because damn, it's way harder here🤣

lol..we can’t expect any logic from yrkkh writers…they do zero research and write crap when it comes to anything related to education..they only good with the singing and dancing and celebrating Hindu festivals 😂. Yes lol…how can a young man who’s worked mainly in business …Become a college professor …who needs a bachelor degree, followed by a masters degree and then a PHD…and lots of publications to his name….when did karthik do all of this…🤣🤣🤣

Snow - watch The Haunting of Bly Manor with us (after Ramadan). Roch has great insights and it could be fun!
