One thing I observed, CN folks are sulking because their son is not part of the celebration but same folks last year celebrated without any worry for their another son Samrat who was missing then . I'm not from West Bengal but North Eastern India (Assam), but yeah I'm Bengali so we celebrate in Bengali way. Both Dol and Holi.

I never knew anything about Holi before I came to India. And,hence haven't played Holi either. Like you, I found it so messy when I saw people playing with colours.
