Sejal was previously Mahira. Uske family ki death aur bhai ke abduction ke baad she was safely taken to an orphanage by the intel officers. Kiran Karmakar's character was actually a friend of Sejal's real father. Later from the orphanage Kothari couple adopted her legally as their daughter. The two intel officers kept their eyes on Sejal since she was 5.
