Same here. Not watching anymore. Imlie was sick now she is spreading the disease. How long can the Stockholm syndrome be justified ?

Nope... Stockholm syndrome theory to justify the forced marriage is what i mean...

There are many behavioural aspects which can be overlooked in Imlie but given the fact that she adorns that badge of honour for being too smart and intelligent, power and strength, care taker for a certain set of people and her rationality goes for a toss for another set is what pisses me off. The makers need to strike a balance else they have lost the plot completely after GMs exit.

See I've read a lot on this trope both romanticization as well as reversal, and when I see this show this is the only analogy that comes to me...

I'm not sure i can convince anyone to it but the narcissistic forever hot-and-cold behaviour of mother-son duo is responsible for this.

They've classic captor mindset both of them. And the problem is our societal structure has normalised it so much under the bond of matrimony. It's impossible to see where to draw the line especially in case of married couples. (Though this case is different as it had a third angle too, makes it more disgusting tbh)
