Aren’t there a ton of movies made on the atrocities committed by the Governments? Watch Article 15 from the recent times for example. But forget the movies, there is not much news also about the KPs. It’s like it never happened. Why this pushing it under the rug? How did it happen? Why were they ignored?

Who said that the plight of KP needs to be pushed under the rug....its real and its genuine....did you see me speak a word against the movie...until the Modi visit by the team happened?? Show me one place where I have said anything against the movie......I am just mad that they chose to give the benefit from a movie to BJP and it shouldn't have been done...

Also what happens in UP is horrendous .....and it needs to be exposed....just because I am speaking for it doesn't make the plight of KPs any less.....stop trying to shut down people's voices that go against the narrative of this government....and I am speaking in general...not to you...

Then it needs a platform of it’s own. Why get it mixed up with something else where you won’t be able to do justice to either of the issues? It becomes easier to tackle one thing at a time. I am genuinely disturbed by what happened to the KPs and just horrified that such a thing has been pushed under the rug for 30 damn years. : (

@Blue: It’s undeniable that the Kashmiri Pandits got displaced from their own homes and it happened much before the current Government was even in the horizon. I don’t care which political party will run what narrative or agenda, as long as these poor victims get their long awaited justice.

Why and how does it matter ....I am not able to understand the offense taken for something that I brought up and is atrocious as well...and this is a public forum.....isn't it?

Of course similar things will come up....someone might bring up the farmer's crushed and killed by the minister's son.....they are all atrocities....at the end of the day...

How?Modi didn’t make the movie and anyways making the movie = getting them the justice? And by not forgetting the genocide also how are you going to help the KPs?

You do know that movies are strictly a business venture right? Except the producers and the distributors of the movie, no one else is getting a penny out of it - unless they have decided to donate all the profits to the KPs.

This is the reason it made me mad.......this is the politicization of a very very sad and horrendous event.....now Modi is getting the credit....and you have reasoned out with this member.....but there are thousands who will believe what he just said....because the team indirectly made it about Modi by felicitating him...felicitation for what?? presenting him with a shawl for what?? Shame on the producers and the team for making it about Modi/BJP and not the victims.......I wouldn't even have spoken about this movie at all had this drama not happened...

I remember seeing some documentaries about the exodus of KPs with interviews and all...better watch those....instead of a book because the books can be colored by the judgement and perspective of the author.

I would like to know too. The more I read about it the more I am perplexed as to how the entire country looked the other way when it happened. What was the government missionary doing at that time? Why was there no extensive coverage by the media even? I checked with my parents (who live in down south) and they were like there was some vague mention here and there but nothing substantial. It was all but neatly pushed under the rug it seems! :(
