It's so dumb that Hala couldn't tell Hamza how evil his mother was in the hospital. She literally had golden chance but nooo she was too scared!

Does PEMRA not look at the shit that goes on in shows or is it just limited to a couple holding hands?
Shahjahan took Hala, bashed her head on a wall repeatedly, Raees tried to choke her to death, but is mein kisi ko problem nahi dikha kya? I literally felt uncomfortable through that scene. I had to skip the scenes where once AGAIN Shahjahan chokes Hala and throws her out the house. Wtf man.

The only decent scene in this episode was Hala getting saved from the dogs by Hamza. Next episode he will marry her though toh aur drama hoga ab 🤓

I think ARY dramas took cake is showing such violence. I am sad that none talk about it. It is disgusting.🤢 I felt scared reading your discription of that scene. I am glad I didn't watch it. But ARY sells negativity, and it gurantees them high TRPs, so they'll continue with it.

In Angna Ali Abbas is shown slapping Rabab in the promo yesterday.

This is the only drama I’m watching. Don’t normally like dramas like this but I’m actually enjoying it as I’m a sucker for a Cinderella story.

Regarding the violence, I personally think it depends on the context. In this show it’s clearly being shown that the characters engaging in violent abuse are ‘evil’. The violence is being depicted as a negative act which Hamza and Dadi are vehemently apposing.

For me what’s problematic is when men slap their wives or parents slap their daughter and it’s justified because she was ‘acting out’. That happens a lot in dramas. Or when women silently endure emotional or verbal abuse from their husband because they’re ‘good girls’ - that’s happening in Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat. Or when husbands are abusive, then after beating the crap out of their wives suddenly ‘change’ and the wife happily forgives him - like in Band Khirkiyan.

In this drama Hala is silently enduring abuse from her family but Hamza is speaking out and from the promos it looks like he’s going to encourage her to speak up for herself. So they are actually showing silently enduring physical or verbal abuse is NOT a virtue. Which is a good thing.

I think its like a Desi version of modern Cinderella story. The most annoying person in the entire show is Hala's ex-bf. I think his mom will die and he will seek revenge on Hala by creating problems between Hala & Hamza.
