Would it not be better to look at them as flawed characters rather than heroes? They made mistakes and endured the consequences.
When we read Mahabharat, we should read it with the intent of learning from their mistakes instead of just looking for the hero.

I agree with this (bold) - I just wondered if there is an acknowledged hero of Mahabharat? I would've assumed not as well, since the whole epic is about karma and in the end, even Krishna had to bear the consequences of the deeds he did in his human form.
