He is not openly accepted as amounting to anything but is considered as a benchmark in every comparison thread. Ranveer is DP hubby that's why he gets dragged in everything. I felt that is the only reason why he gets dragged 😆

Its not just on the forum, its also social media, now that 83 hasn't done well at the box office every actors films box office will be compared to it to hype up that actor and to prove they are a bigger star than Ranveer lol, even though the circumstances that 83 released in were very different, but ofcourse people won't take that into consideration

Tbh I’m happy 83 got good reviews and WOM, it won’t go down as being a bad movie, yeh it’s unfortunate it released in such circumstances and so the box office wasn’t as expected, but it is one of Ranveers best films and I think its his best performance, and I think that’s the sad thing as well, that it is his best performance and film but it didn’t do the numbers they were hoping for. I mean if it was a bad film then it would deserve to flop, but honestly 83 is a good film and it deserved to do well.

I have yet to watch it...but I am sure that Ranveer gave a good performance......Good performances have nothing to do with movie...remember Swades was a flop despite SRK's ace performance....... I was just talking about the benchmark part...unfortunately it is going to be a bench mark for sometime....

if ranveer had done a good performance in a bad film then of course it wouldn’t work and it wouldn’t deserve to work, but 83 got unanimous good reviews and all the WOM I saw was very positive. And this is not me being biased here, genuinely the WOM was very good

Anyway it’s premiering on TV soon, so those that couldn’t watch it will be able to see it and hopefully it gets a lot more appreciation

I didn’t know Swades flopped, I always thought the movie had done well as I have seen people praising the film

Lootera, almost 10 years ago in which Ranveer was a nobody, opened at 5 crores. So even if 10 cr opening for Alia is true (which it isn’t)… I think this in itself proves who stands where.
