But i dont trust the director to be factual and i think he will turn it into a propaganda movie. It wont help KPs in any way but unnecessarily turn audience against kashmiri muslims which again wont help at all. I was born after the exodus happened so i dont have any stong opinion on it. I think it will be "accidental PM" kinda movie which even KPs might resent.

You being born after, during or before the exodus is not the reason why you don’t have a strong opinion on it. Let’s be honest and admit that you didn’t care enough to know more about it!

But at least don’t accuse other’s of having their biases without even knowing their opinions or understanding or experience of the subject!

My best friend is a KP from a family that stayed back and he'll be the first one to tell you that the KP leaders grossly overreacted.

https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/chandigarh/in-3-decades-militants-killed-1724-in-jk-89-of-them-are-kashmiri-pandits-rti-reply-7673497/

I agree that even 1 terrorist killing is too many but only the KPs had mass migration. 5% of total killings in the valley was KPs....wasn't like they were the only ones targeted. What they faced that no other community did though was being the most affluent class in Kashmir....the 5% of KP Pandits owned 30-35% of the whole wealth/land in Kashmir, locals started sending threatening letters because of greed. Once the KPs left, their shops/homes were a free for all. I'm sure if they could have a do over, they wouldn't have left in masses like the other communities that stayed back.(Other Hindus, Sikhs).

No. It has more to do with the identity of the victims (and the perpetrators for that matter). Hindu lives are pretty much considered expendable. So a lot of the usual suspects suddenly discover "nuance" while discussing the issue. Here's Burkha almost rationalizing their massacre.

No life is expendable. But when you factor in colonization, partition, and generations of strife - the issue becomes complex.

I'm seeing a clip of Barkha explaining how/why something happened not judging whether it was a right/wrong/good/bad thing that happened.

There is never any excuse for genocide, let alone a single murder. However. rationalization is not justification. It is necessary to understand why and how something happened in the hopes of trying to prevent history from repeating itself. When studying any war or genocide, part of the study includes exploring the causes - what events, circumstances, human actions led to the final atrocity.

What do you think is the rationalization behind the Jews Holocaust?

You can trace it all the way back to before WWI in the late 1800s when we saw the slow rise of nationalism. Kaiser Wilhelm II felt that Germany (Prussian Empire) had fallen behind other European powers and there was a push to make Prussia great again. Things came to head in WWI. During that war, the Prussian Empire faced a significant loss.

WWI ended with the treaty of Versailles and the formation of the Weimar Republic. The treaty had some devastating economic reparations forced on the unstable new nation plunging them into hyperinflation and other crisis.

Parallel to all this antisemitic sentiment was fomenting. German nationalists believed that Germany didn't lose WWI but was betrayed by the Jews who weren't loyal or true Germans. Prior to WWI itself, German nationalists were distributing anti-Jewish propaganda like this pamphlet and the WWI strengthened people's beliefs that Jews were a problem. From targeting Jews as antinational who should be punished for their treason - it escalated rapidly into the holocaust where Jews across Eastern Europe were being exterminated.

Although, the Nazis are the most notorious example of hypernationalism - almost all nationalist regimes before and after the Nazis have scapegoated minorities.

Itna bhi liberal mat banjao ki you become mentally retarded.

Hindus were mass murdered by Muslims in Kashmir and the remaining Hindus had to flee their homes.

Thats a fact and no amount of rationalization or justification will change it.

And people still have the guts to try and rationlize this terrorism.

And f.ing Pak has the audacity to say Free Kashmir!! Yes please free kashmir from Pak and Chinese terrorism..

India needs to get back the illegally occupied POK and COK.

Kashmir is part of India. Period.

Did you just try to rationalize holocaust and blame it on nationalism?

Thats not nationalism.

No i do read about it. But yes i was very young ,had no idea about it for a long time and since it didnt affect me in any way i couldnt feel strongly about it. Just like i dont about partition or sikh riots or emergency. People are biased about it. I have seen them have all sorts of outlandish opinions on the subject without understanding the subject matter. And give all sorts of unsustainable solutions .Anyways i sincerely apologise if i hv offended anyone who has directly or indirectly been affected by this matter.. Basically my point was that this movie will be biased and that people should take it with a grain of salt .

Yes.....bcoz currently muslims in the country are being heavily targetted both directly and indirectly and this movie can add fuel to fire.
