Abhay was shown as the obsessive, psychotic monster of husband. A picture perfect person to the media, a family man.
It would highlight how people we see on TV might just be really, really good actors and aren't how they are in real life, and you can never tell how a person really is and even the best looking people might turn out to be monsters.
Kundan could have been shown as the nice fiancé, who wasn't bad or wanting to hurt someone. Instead, he was just someone who was engaged to someone he didn't love but was fully devoted to the wedding, because that's how he was raised.
He was incompatible but not evil, and that would highlight that just because someone is a good person doesn't mean you would get along with them or you belong with them. Different ambitions, different goals and different thinking.
Aneesh could have been that friend who backs off because he figures out that the girl he is in love with is in love with someone else. A good person and a good friend who was compatible with her but she didn't feel the same. A better choice if you THINK about it.
It would highlight how just because you are friends with someone, you enjoy being with someone, you are compatible with them, sometimes you just don't fall for that and how it's not the brain you use when you fall in love with someone.
