Akshay was first trying to help Anjali as she was in trouble. But when she started blackmailing with all those pictures he panicked and he couldn't reveal it to Shivina at the fear of not being able to make her believe his side of story. They're newly married and his fear is quite relatable in this case. Intentionally Akshay didn't do anything wrong. And not being entirely truthful about the whole Anjali issue was just a stupid mistake. To err is human, after all.

I can understand he didn’t want to cause trouble in his sisters life but all this unpleasantness could have been avoided.
Akki is the victim here. He is young with a new career & new marriage, both of which he got after a lot of struggle. It is normal for victims to feel scared & make foolish decisions or lie in the belief that they are safeguarding themselves and others. He has not done anything fundamentally wrong.
On the other hand u have Ram, a 39 yr old seasoned businessman. He shd know how to be circumspect. He cld easily have hired a private detective & found out everything. But he has proved to be a hypocritical judgemental emotional fool thru this whole matter.
