I think the only way for any channel to come up with any half decent serial or show is to go back to weekly and limited episodes format....no serial should exceed 50 episodes ....so if 1 episode aired per week your serial should be over in 50....this is the only way you can get something decent....if you have an end insite you have definite goal of what you want to show...remember sony tv had come up with this when they aired rishta.com ? Indian TV has already done that, in Hindi and Marathi andd maybe other languages, quite a few of these shows are available on Youtube. I don't think the daily TV show are going anywhere, they are part and parcel of all TV Industry in the parts of the world where TV Industry has thrived with the exception of a few.

Exactly, this is a phase that every TV Industry goes through, Indian TV too went through this phase when their was only Doordarshan. We had some fantastic serials like Tamas, Kathasagar, Karamchand, Nukkad, Mr.Yogi and many many others. Today when I see the praise for TV shows from other countries I regret that Doordarshan did not archive their shows properly. What a loss.

Yes exactly my point....daily tv show are part of all TV industry....it should not be the only format of an TV Industry....like it is today with the Indian tv industry ....a lot of tv industry have a mix if daily soap opera , realty shows and seasonal or limited episode series (these are reserved for prime time) like Australia has their neighbours and home away which are soap operas going on for years but then they for Primetime they have shows which are weekly and end every spring and come back with a new season after summer break

I think there are such TV shows on Indian TV even today, If people like a show then it need not be a limited episode show(for instance anthology shows) but frequency might be debatable like once a week or twice week and not everyday.

In India it might be difficult because it seems Indian audience is more interested in characters than story.

i guess ,from the earlier experiences of promoting the serial too much and then serial getting failed ,zm is not promoting this show ott,good move .

too much promotion sometimes make people to lose interest.
