@red and that is my biggest problem with her character - i dont understand it at all . why would she dance with SreeTul???!!!!! that too rastar majhe... there were so many other ways of showing the SreeTul "milan". thinking back to the early episodes there was so much that they had in common - their ideologies, poetry.... why choose dancing? Just to get Mithai to dance??
I am finally caught up....
4 couples with very different outlooks
Sid/Mithai: Sid is may be one of the most layered characters that they have taken time to develop. they have shown his growth. he married for his "dadai" and now believes in the concept.. jodio or kache marriage er concept is very different from normal. he accepts that mithai is his wife, feels responsibility for her, stands by her and intermittently keeps saying that she needs to stop her bouma giri and get educated. hopefully that will be a track at some point. but, has had growth and now does things that even surprises him, maybe the day he realizes why he is doing all of this we will too 🤣 Mithai on the other hand seems very flimsy to me at this point. she i feel would have fallen in love with her husband irrespective of who that was and then spent her time taking care of her shoshur bari lokjon and keeping them "heppy". 😲 this is a girl who had a lot of self-respect before marriage, had dreams and aspirations before marriage and now everything has disappeared. 👎🏼she has decided to become a "bouma". the only thing she seems to take pride in is imitating her husband for all and sundry and making sure that she is mispronouncing english... i guess there are folks like this who exist in real life (i have seen some in my family and our generation where they become a carbon of their husbands and loose their identity). Mithai reminds me of them. her character is very disappointing. why could she not retain her self-respect and why could they not show meaningful conversations between sid and mit and their outlooks and expectations from each other instead? 🤔 could they not show her being silly at home (amake amar moto mene nite hobe) but at least show her as striving to be a modern woman who will one day be running that business? i guess i just dont understand her or her "mahanta"😊
SreeTul has been one of my favorite couples with really good progression. Sree kept her character intact until that last song and dance sequence and i will write that off as shock seeing him leave 😉i hope they develop that relation - show their struggles etc and not make them into Rajib / Nanda
Rajib / Nanda - the less said about them the better ...
Som / Torsha this is the couple that interests me most. Som with his victim mentality and Tess with her entitlement. Som has a victim mentality and what he did during the fire incident cannot be pardoned. wonder how he will react when he finds out that he is not somoresh's child. it is hard to grow up in a family thinking you have no rights and knowing that someone hates you, but Sid did not have a good relation wiith somoresh either and did not turn out like Som. Tess ... sid was correct when he said "tui to kono kaaj korish na". she has entitlement / ego and has used others accomplishments as her own to date, spoiled by her mother who has encouraged her "baby" even when the things she is doing is wrong. just to she show that "amar life ta eto ta o kharap noy" she shares som's parenthood secret with the Agarwals knowing full well who they are, what their relation is with the Modaks. wonder what she will do when all this blows up??? what will som do now that he loves her??? i really hope that they expolre this couple....
They need a storyline - i hope people give feedback that they are getting tired of all the song and dance and no story
Sorry about the long post and rant ....
Sorry for late reply. Very apt analysis of all the couples.
Som-Tess has kind of mutual benifit relationship. Although, Som s nt getting any benifit for now, but, I felt that was his initial intention. He wanted somebody on his side in the Modak house, that was one of the main reason to marry Tess. Now after getting shops and his identity confirmed, he took a 360 degree turn. He might again turn when his actual identity gets exposed.
Sreetul and SidMit are 2 sweet couples. Sreetul showed nice growth, except for OTT street dance confession, which ruined my mood totally.
SidMit, Sid showed the best growth and till now best written character, except his "porject about Sree-Nipa-Ratul", where he kind of looked very out of character.
Mithai showed the least growth till now. The most expected character, but least attention given in terms of growth.
Its good that many good series r coming and now Mit facing lot of competition for TRP, CVs have geared up now.
Long lost track of Mithai education resurfaced, and so did Som's identity.
I have a strange feeling, due to Pilu Somresh might focus on the new serial and might exit from Mithai. I feel his character might die, leaving Sid guilt ridden for life.
