Chapter 26

"ABHIMANYU BIRLA! I AM PREGNANT!"

"Kyaaa? Let's go to the hosp...wait! What did you just say?" Abhi said getting up.

"Dimag ke saath kahn bhi kaam nahi kar rahe ab?" Akshu said smiling.

"Akshu please. Please ek baar phir kaho?" Abhimanyu said going near her.

"Abhi, tum Papa banne wale ho." Akshu said hugging him.

"SACH MEIN? Are you sure?" He picked Akshu up and started to spin her around.

"Abhi! Kya kar rahe ho? Put me down!"

"Sorry!" He put her down. "Akshuuuu!" He tightly hugged her.

"Tum khush ho na?" Akshu whispered to him.

"Khush? Are you kidding me? Khush bohat chota word hai to describe how I'm feeling!" He sat on the bed and made Akshu sit on his lap. "Akshu! Hamara bacha! Mera aur tumhara. Hum dono ka. She will be a part of us both."

"She? Tumhe kaise pata ladki hogi? Kuch bhi." Akshu laughed.

"Dekh lena." Abhi said kissing his wife. "Meri toh beti e hogi."

"Maaaaaaaa! Maaaaa!" Abhi said screaming for Manjiri running down the stairs.

"Kya hua Abhi? Sab theek toh hai?" Manjiri said running out of the kitchen. The rest of the family gathered around as well. "Akshu theek hai?"

"Kya hua Bhai?" Parth asked.

"Maaaa! Main Dadi banne wala hoon aur aap Papa!" Abhi said spinning her around.

"Abhi! Tum pagal ho gaye ho kya? Main Papa banne wali hoon?" Manjiri said laughing.

"No matlab Maa aap samjho bhi. Main Papa banne wala hoon. Maa!!" Abhi hugged her with tears in his eyes.

"Matlab main chachu banunga!" Neil exclaimed.

"Aur main bua!" Nishta squealed. Both Neil and Nishta started to dance with Parth, Shefali and the rest of the family joining them.

"Akshu kahan hai?" Mahima asked Abhi.

"Haan woh usko sharam aa rahi hai." Abhi said blushing.

"Waise Bhaiya! I hope it's a girl! Iss ghar mein ek main e ladki hoon...I need another girl." Nishta said hugging Abhi.

"Kyun? Shefali Bhabi aur Akshu Bhabi kya hai? Ladka hoga!" Neil said.

With that everyone started to argue about what they wanted the baby to be.

"Hello! Excuse me!" Abhi said loudly. "Mera baby hai. Mujhe pata hai kya hoga. So please."

"Acha ji? Itney din se isko yeh pata nahi chala ke Akshu ko kya hua hai lekin isko pata chal gaya ke baby kya hoga." Mahima teased him as everyone laughed.

"Ji. Mujhe pata hai. Beti e hogi. Pyari si. Bilkul apney Maa jaisi. Choti si Akshu." Abhi smiled.

"Lo! Ek Akshu ke peeche deewana hona kam tha ab Abhi ko ek choti si Akshu bhi chaiye." Manjiri laughed.

The Birlas continued to tease Abhi as they celebrated the good news.

"Itna chota sa? Yeh toh kisi gudiya ke liye hai, Badi Mumma!" Akshu said holding a tiny little dress.

"Haan toh yeh hamari gudiya ka tha aur agar tumhare ghar gudiya aaye toh uska hoga." Badi Mama smiled.

"Yeh mera tha?"

Badi Mama nodded. "Yeh Karthik laya tha tumhare liye. Karthik ko itna shok tha ke beti ho aur jab tum paida hui, he went crazy buying you so many dresses."

Akshu laughed. "Abhi ko bhi beti e chaiye."

"Phir dekh lena. Agar beti hui toh Abhimanyu bhi apni beti ke liye pagal hoga. Tumhara number to cut hone wala hai, Akshu." Badi Mama laughed while getting up. "Oh let me show you the other things we have from your childhood. I'll be right back. Tum aaram se yahan beto."

Mere number cut hoga? Abhi kya sach mein mujhe bhool jayega? Akshu put a hand on her growing belly and felt a light kick. She smiled. The baby had recently started to kick and each time it kicked, Akshu felt her heart swell with love for the little being growing inside her. "It's okay baby. I guess I have to learn to share your Papa with you."

Badi Mama came back a little while later with a pile of baby clothes.

"Yeh sab mere the?" Akshu said going through the clothes. "Badi Mumma, this is so cute!" Akshu held up a little white dress with tiny pink flowers.

"Oh I think that was Aaru's." Badi Mama took the dress to examine it. Hearing Aarohi's name, Akshu felt a pang of pain. She hasn't seen her or heard from her sister since Aarohi moved to London.

"Badi Mumma, kaisi hai Aaru?"

Badi Mama smiled at Akshu. "Theek hai. Main tumhe batana bhool gayi. Woh jaldi aa rahi hai hum se milne."

"Mujhse toh abhi bhi naraz hai." Akshu said with tears filling up her eyes.

"Akshu tum aise mat socho. Stress mat lo. Baby ke liye theek nahi hai na, beta? Jaisi tum ne hume maaf kar liye ek din Aaru bhi sab kuch bhool jayegi. Chalo arrey yeh dress toh dekho?" Badi Mama said showing Akshu another dress.

Akshu returned home to find Abhi in their room with a note book scribbling something. Her didn't notice her come in.

"Abhi, tum kya kar rahe ho?"

"Akshu, tum aa gayi. Chalo sit here." He made Akshu sit on a chair. "Akshu, there's only 4 months left until the baby comes. We have to think of a name na? Toh main naamo ki list bana raha tha."

"Oh really? Show." Akshu took the notebook and threw a dirty look at Abhi. "Really Abhi! What is this?"

"Names, Jaan."

"Really?" Akshu started to read the names. "Akshi. Akshvi. Akshata. Akshaya. Akshiti. Akshavi. Acha nahi baby ka naam Akshara e rakh lehte hain?"

"Maa said we can't name the baby after the mom. Bura shagun hota hai. I already asked." Abhi said sadly not catching Akshu's sarcasm.

"Tum Doctor kaise ban gaye yeh mujhe aaj tak samajh nahi aaya. Buddu Doctor! Aur iss mein ladko ke naam kahan hain? These are all girl names."

"Why do we need boy names? Akshu, I told you beti hogi."

"Beta hua toh? Naam toh chaiye." Akshu said rolling her eyes.

"Fine phir you decide. But beti hogi aur naam..."

"Tum nahi decide karoge. Hum saath mein decide karenge. Aur koi Aksh waley naam nahi!"

"Theek hai magar A wala naam."

"Fine!"

Will Aarohi get over her hate for Akshu? Will Abhi get his baby girl? What should they name their baby? I might pick a name you guys suggest.
