But her accident and (as much as I cringe to bring in this scene into my mind) the nurse narrating what happened in the OT and how he went into pieces...that was the beginning of change in her thought process. Yeh pyar nahi pagalpan hain. Itna pyar mat karo / koi itna pyar kaise karsakta hain... those had been her words. And in parallel, she watched Arohi, caught on to her thoughts and actions. The culmination of all that led to her standing up for herself and her love.
