Chapter 22
“Will you make me the luckiest person in the universe and marry me?” Akshu asked.
Abhimanyu stood staring at Akshu. He didn’t want to say anything or move. What if it’s a dream and him saying anything will end the dream.
“Abhi?” Akshu whispered. Her knee was starting to hurt. “Abhi you know there is a reason girls don’t propose..my knee hurts.” She shook Abhi’s hand.
“I’m so sorry, Akshu.” He helped Akshu get up.
“Well? Do you want to marry me or not?”
“Akshu! Yes! A million times YES! Of course I’ll marry you…!!” He pulled Akshu in a hug and twirled her around. “Yes, yes, yes!” They both looked at each other and as Abhi went close to her face to kiss her…Neil started to cough.
“Bro! Hum sab yahan hain…”
Akshu blushed and tried to move away but Abhi held her tightly. “Haan toh? Meri honi wali biwi hai….” Everyone laughed.
“Akshu I don’t have a ring for you.” Abhimanyu said to her sadly.
“Kis ne kaha?” Manjiri brought a ring out. Everyone gathered around the two love birds as they exchanged rings.

“So this is Neil’s room but don’t go there. He hasn’t cleaned it since he was 6.” Abhimanyu said pointing to a room. Abhi had realized this was the first time Akshu had come to his house and wanted to show her everything. “And this is….my room. Sorry our room.” He grinned as he opened the door to his room. She entered the room and he closed the door behind him. He watched her as she examined the room.
“So? What do you think? If you don’t like anything, we can change it.”
Akshu turned around and wrapped her arms his neck. “Aab tum mujhe koi change ki bina pasand aa gayi toh yeh room bhi aise e pasand hai.”
“Acha ji?”
“Waise Abhi!” Akshu walked to where two comfy chairs were at. “This is where we can continue our Ludo games!”
“Akshu really?” Abhi said raising an eyebrow.
“Kya hua?”
“Do you really think ke shaadi ke baad bhi hum Ludo khelenge?”
“Haan toh aur Kya karenge?” Akshu said before realizing what Abhi meant and started to blush. Abhi wrapped his arms around her back.
“Should I tell you now or wait till we are married?” Abhi whispered in her ear.
“Abhi…” she pushed him away and went to sit in one of the chairs.
He went and sat on the other chair. He looked at her in amazement. Was it just him or was she getting more and more beautiful?
“Kya hua? Why are you staring at me like this?” Akshu asked him.
“Main yeh soch raha hoon ke Abhimanyu beta tum gaye kaam se…..tum roz mere samne aise aao ge toh main koi kaam kaise karang ga?”
“Doctor Saab aap ko kaam se nikalne ke baas bahane chaiye.” But she smiled, got up, sat on his lap and kissed him.

Abhimanyu and Akshara’s wedding was a grand affair. Both the Birlas and Goenkas made sure everything was the best. Bade Papa made sure everything was according to how Karthik would have wanted for his princess. Families from near and far came to be part of the wedding. From Akshu’s side, her maternal family all came. Her Nandini Bua Nani, Yash Mamu and Rose Mami and their kids, Anmol Mamu and Mansi Bua and their kids, Mishti Masi, Abir Mausa and Amish Bhaiya, Kuhu Masi, Ananya Masi, Ranveer Mausa and their kids, Nannu Mamu and his family. Her Par Nani Rajshree and Bhabi Maa and Deviyani Nani. Even Luv and Kush Chachus showed up with their familes. Everyone wanted to be part of their Akshu’s big day but the biggest surprise was when Keerti Bua, Gayu Masi, Vatsal Bhaiya and Krish Bhaiya came with Naksh Mamu.
When Akshu saw her Naksh Mamu, she ran to him and gave him a big hug. “I’m so happy you made it Naksh Mamu! I can’t wait for you to meet Abhi.” Naksh wanted to apologize but Akshu never gave him a chance. She didn’t want to think of her past because nothing else mattered anymore except her life with Abhi.
The only person who didn’t show up was Aarohi. It did break Akshu’s heart but she knew there was nothing else left for her to do and she didn’t want to dwell on her relationship with Aarohi on the happiest day of her life.
The wedding went without any hiccups as both families sang and danced and everyone agreed it was the best wedding they ever been to. Before long it was time to bid Akshu farewell as she went to start her new life at Birla House.
“Badi Mumma, I am going to be living 15 minutes away. Please stop crying.” Akshu said hugging Badi Mama.
“Haan magar hamare paas toh nahi rahogi na. Itney saal baad hume mili aur phir se jaa rahi ho.”
“Don’t worry, Badi Maa. I’ll bring her to visit everyday.” Abhi assured her.
“Arrey no Abhi. Please. Hume bhi break chaiye.” Kairav laughed.
“Bhaiya!”
The Goenkas tearfully said goodbye to their princess and watched her leave with Abhimanyu to start her new life and they all said a silent prayer that her new life will only be filled with love and joy and nothing else.
Okay well now what? Should I post about their married life too? 🤔
