Off topic but I really liked that movie (Pukar), shame it didn't do well. Anil Kapoor and Madhuri were great in it and the story was interesting

I watched most all of meenakshi seshadri movies, most all of madhuri's movies, don't remember any song of meenakshi's except for the audios of hero, but most of madhuri's songs are unforgettable

meenakshi is a very good Bharat natyam dancer but I don't think she touches the memorable heroines like vyantimala, wahida rehman, sridevi madhuri etc in movie dancing.

Why the hell all kat stans are trying to put down madhuri

I am half way thru this silly 80s movie, am surprised this song is not more popular... Or maybe it was when it was released...

MS doesn't have an oz of extra flesh but she looks feminine and not overly toned, desi audience at that time didn't like that toned look in lady actors

People are forgetting Madhuri's character was supposed to be outperformed. In real life, no choreographer would have supported the nonsense Madhuri haters (the norm on this forum) are still spouting about DTPH.

As to versatility. Not to take anything from Meenakshi, but "Ram Lakhan", "Sangeet", "Anjaam", "Pukar", "Aaja Nachle" show the kind of dance versatility no other actress in Bollywood's recent decades has had, be it classical, semiclassical or western.

I find madhuri better dancer. Even when Madhuri does those jumping moments in her dance she makes it very graceful. Madhuri and Sridevi's dance is very fluid and they don't over thrust their moves which makes them different from others.
