Love how after being a roaring impulse-driven neanderthal for most of this track, Dr. Abhimanyu is suddenly so erudite about the psychology behind Akshara's behavior. Like dude, where was this insight when you were all KYUN KYUN KYUN and BOLO BOLO JAWAB DO🤣

As Our residence psychiatrist/heart surgeon/throat specialist Dr. Abhimanyu explained: CONDITIONING

Aarohi was born premature and they thought she won’t survive and apparently Akshu (who was like 1) gave her kaala daaga to her and Aarohi survived. Then Akshu (again my wonder women when she was 1) pushed Aaru’s stroller away to save a pipe falling on her. Since literally Aaru was born, Sirat kept telling Akshu “oh you will always protect your sister, always take care of her”

Before the leap, Akshu was super obsessed with Aaru even though Aaru was always rude and Sirat kept telling Akshu “she’s your little sister so don’t mind her. Be there for her always”

sirat when dying made Akshu promise to take care of Aarohi

I think Akshu has always been the more sensitive out of the two sisters so took those words to heart and she was legit raised by Sirat to think her only duty in life is to make Aarohi happy

I do know what sub-dom is. Masochism is not necessarily sexual.

I wont say guilt tripped..but like its very common that older kids are advised to take care of younger ones and younger ones are told to obey elders...Akshara took it seriously because of seerat's death...

But surely its not common for older siblings to be THIS self-sacrificing and self-effacing - and wasn't Akshara like this towards Arohi even before Sirat died? (I don't know as I stopped watching S2 soon after the Vedika track)

you know I wonder what kind of father Karthik was to Akshu…we didn’t really see once she was older.

take Naira. She grew up with two parents doting on her. She was very much loved by her entire family n always the center of attention. Even after she ran away, she had the confidence to live by herself and deal with everything.

Akshu being her daughter has no confidence. Gets anxiety attacks when someone looks at her weirdly. Always seeking validation from Aarohi….. I know it’s a show n not that deep but it seems like she was always neglected n made to feel like she has to be the understanding calm one. Even before the leap, she was the calm sweet anxious older sister

Ok I'm totally confused because I have no idea what you're talking about. My post was referring to developmental moral masochism which arises from a lack of secure maternal figures in childhood and you brought up sub-dom. And now I have no idea what this song has to do with anything - so yeah, what we have here is a failure to communicate.

Oh - they didn't show that either? My impression from bits and pieces is that Kartik was alive till Akshu was what maybe 8-9 years old? Obviously the Goenkas were very comfortable sidelining her. So yeah you make a good point that Naira had a support system till she was basically almost an adult but its pretty obvious Akshara hasn't had family support and then outright hostility from Arohi. It seems no one told her she should look out for her own wellbeing and focus on her own worthiness which is what good mothers or rather parents tell their kids.
