What do you all think about surrogacy? Currently you need medical reason to go through surrogacy but are you all open for non medical reasons or just because someone don’t want to go through 9 months pain but want to have a child? Do you think we should make surrogacy as a choice open to all?

I think it should be an open choice but its risky. Medical condition & living habits of the surrogate mother are very important. No one will take care of the baby more than a real mother (especially diet).

I think even if they do open the choice (I honestly think the option cant be closed for rich, who are the only ones who get it mostly) - its actually an option for the wealthy only. I'm sure its super expensive.

Agree, I also think it should be open choice but all medical risks should become lower. Also currently there is lot of exploitation of women and poor women are not paid well. They should have better legal rights and should be well taken care of.

I hope science progresses enough to reduce risks and make it cheaper and more available. I am sure child birth would be beautiful experience for some but Honestly, I don’t think it is for me. I don’t want to go through that pain. I am all for open surrogacy.

I really don’t get it When people say pain of childbirth is what makes you mother or you must experience that. It doesn’t make sense because today it has become norm to have c section if mothers don’t want labour pain or in normal delivery, some pain reducing medicines are also given. These are not any less mothers than who goes through labour pain. Neither adopting mothers are any less.

If we as an intelligent species develop science and technology where one can have painless childbirth or through surrogacy or even use artificial wombs in future, we must adopt it as a part of our evolution. There is no point in sticking to old risky healthcare ways ( I am assuming in future risks will be reduced in such measures).

Being said that, I STRONGLY feel there should not be exploitation of poor surrogate mothers which is happening in India these days. I hope we can come up with better laws for them.

I love Klaus and Katherine too, I mean, they were the real survivors. Not Elena and certainly not Damon.

I loved Elena but the way she broke Stefan, I didnt appreciate it.

period

theres one damon quote i agree with "when people see good they expect good and i dont wanna live up to anyone's expectations"

thats why the fandom coddles damon everytime he does something remotely good and this is ridiculous

Instead of showing Salvatore brothers vs Michaelson brothers, they should have built a comparison between Salvatore siblings and Gilbert siblings. Not that I would want a comparison really but it would just mean more scenes of Elena-Jeremy together.

jeremy-elena are severly underrated majority hate the gilberts and i hate it though i do believe jeremy should have stayed dead he served no purpose whatsoever

I feel it’s wrong to tell women that to be a mother they should be able to bear the pain and what not... I don’t think pregnancy should be romanticised. No need to judge women if they don’t feel comfortable carrying the child, it’s difficult & painful. Also, even with epidural .. it cab take a toll on your body & some women do have back pain issues later. I was watching a reality show on Netflix, bling empire. There was a woman called cherry , they showed her giving birth & I was surprised how easy she made it look.. she wasn’t even screaming a bit lol. I think it also depends on the person. I think you could also talk to a professional before really deciding if it’s for you or not.

I’m not sure about the exploitation part because I believe it would be more common in the western world and they should have laws in place. My only worry is if the surrogate mother would take care of her diet etc if it’s not her child. What if she smokes, drinks during pregnancy, who will take care? Do they move in with the family during the time?

Actually surrogate mothers are becoming quite common in india. Foreigners also come here as it is cheaper. These women are paid hardly 3 lakh and most of money (paid by couple) is taken by their agents and hospitals. For money, husbands of these women force them to do it multiple times. I saw a debate on channel where these women came and were telling their stories and some of these are really heartbreaking.

Yea, smoking and drinking or even not taking care of diet, vitamins etc would be a problem but I believe there would be a contract and some way of checking up on it. Surrogate mothers don’t live with couples. My close friend had twines recently through surrogacy in India so I am quite sure surrogate mothers don’t live with them.

In developing countries like India it would cause problems for sure.
