The treatment of a subject changes between north and south shows. The concepts that work in north may not work with south audience generically. So they tweak the storyline, tracks etc to customise as per the audience. Like the No1 SP serial shows middle age divorcee romance, but a certain south version though has a prospective love interest in form of a character, but they haven’t explored it explicitly. Infact the FL has not even considered one, nor has anyone from the family ever considered that as an option. Maybe they change in future. Dont know.
The presentation of romance is also very different, sometimes very subtle. I’m a subject to both. Being a non TV person whatever lil south exposure I get is all credit to just giving mum some company even if she is so engrossed in the show 😝. But they are catching up now. Though they are more time slot sensitive in those terms. And when I say that it means the likes of 8PM for us will fall in their 9:30-10PM time slot. And I’m like what in the world is there that kids can’t watch? But then there is this switch from north indian to south indian and I get a lil conscious watching a scene when a while ago the northy in me was yappy on a much much bolder scene. Guess subtle and less obvious are more explicit with language switch. 🤷♀️ Gosh, at what levels the subconscious’ functions. Complex mind games🤦♀️
