I am watching random episodes of MHRW and was watching the tracker episode. In that Raghav even though he puts a tracker in pallavi's bag - there is a dialogue where he says sorry, I am doing this to you. I am so glad that MHRW creatives really sketched Raghav's character this solid. That was the reason why this show clicked with the audience that strongly.

SOOO CREEEPY. Who thought that in 2022, women would find that appealing to watch. All they're going to show is that he atones when he's caught, and bc she loves him so much, she can't be away from hi and forgives him. There's literally no plot other than he's a creepy stalker. LOL.

Sai deserves better than this. Sad for Imran (thats the actors name right??) - I actually liked him in the last drama he did (that was an interesting one and sad it got cut early too).

But yes its so misused nowadays and not done right at all IMO. Tbh even for most muslims, it doesn't sit right. The men in my family never once considered marrying a second wife etc. Even the one who's wife couldn't have children, he never considered marrying someone else. So I totally get it, it doesn't really sit well with me either even though its "acceptable" in my community (although its not, really esp for western muslims).

Tbh I think PTV relies so much on the whole cousins marriage, cousins love triangle, double marriage etc., is because in Islamic culture, you don't really date around, you don't really interact with non-mahram men/women for no reason, etc if you're trying to be practicing, etc. So they're trying to show the love stories but keep it within certain bounds.

Now everyone does what they want bc free will but I think they (PTV industry) try to toe that line of showing what they can but not going 'against' their norm religious practices. Even though their own society is not like that - most people, esp middle to upper middle class etc, tend to be more "liberal" in their practice than not. It's just like ITV where they tend to show more conservative stories or try to stay within certain boundaries and not cross certain lines for fear of backlash from their core audience which tends to be more conservative (at least in the minds of the CVs).

The thing is they used to be creative, so there was no need to resort to this type of story telling for almost EVERY drama. But I guess every industry becomes repetitive at one point or another.

I don't remember the drama name lol - I was so young back then hahaha. The older sister was a doctor? I feel like it was at least late 90s to early 00s.

Yeah Fria, it's sad that it's misused and they use the excuse of religion to make things seem right. Ofcourse things are changing as they should and I'm glad. Yeh PTV shows a lot of cousin marriages and love stories and I know it's just because of the mehram and no dating angle. So it makes absolute sense to me to show it (though culturally speaking calling someone Bhai or cousin and then marrying seems odd to us but now I'm used to hahah). Did you know they have restrictions to now show couples sit on the bed and even hold hands. How is anyone to show an understanding between couples on tv. I get it that hugs or kisses aren't shown due to the audience sensitivities but hand holding toh chod dete.

In ITV we go as far as kissing on the lips even. I faintly remember very few dramas that had a hug in PTV. Kiss toh i only remember Ahad sajjal in YKS (i guess they kissed on the cheek?).

And yes I think there's a time where there's a plateau in terms of creativity in shows. PTV is currently facing that because imagine i have no drama to watch this time and I've been watching since 8 years now. I know more about Pakistani dramas than their own citizens hahahah.

Usman - I only ever watched him in the latest one he did with Ayeza Khan but while I liked his acting, and i love Ayeza Khan in general, I couldn't get into it. I didn't like her character and found her annoying LOL so I had to drop it.

I've never watched a Bilal drama (Bilal Khan?) - got any recs??

I used to watch Fawad Khan (who hasn't?), Shehryar Munawar, Zahid Ahmed dramas a lot. I'd at least give all of theirs a try / stick to them out of loyalty LOL.

LOLL 1.5x speed is the best. I tend to FF when I watch dramas. Ive realized (after having stopped watching PTV dramas fro a while), PTV actors really take a long time to deliver their lines. I forgot how more slow-paced their dramas and dialogue delivery was. I'm too impatient for it LOLOL.

Ahad is superb. Good looking, stylish and acts well. What more do you need. I'm waiting for him to hit the screen again.

I'm talking about Usman mukhtar (Anna, sabaat and him kahan ke sacche the fame). He's not done any drama with ayeza Khan. Are you confusing him with someone else?

Bilal abbas Khan is superb. Watch ek jhooti si love story (zee5), pyar ke sadqay (yt). He's presently seen in dobara and I'm in love with this show. It's too progressive. Indian TV won't ever attempt to try such bold concepts.

I love zahid too. Waiting to see him in a passionate love story. He does that well. Fawad is good but he's not there in any dramas off late.

The dramas are way too slow with slow dialogues and music and stuff. 1.5x for few dramas just sets the perfect pace haha. I FF a lot as well when it's boring or dragging.

Fria - The Fanaah lead's name is Zain Imam. He was supposed to have been shortlisted for Raghav Rao of MHRW. But then Sickand wanted a telugu guy to play RR and hence Sai edged him out for the role. I really am thankful to Sickand for casting a telugu guy as the lead. The telugu that Sai speaks is so good since he is a native speaker. Else in Hindi Serials usually it is just - Ayyo Amma dialogue to show the character is a south indian. But here Sai speaks telugu all through out the show and solid dialogues.

yessss. man i'm mixing up everyone's names today.

Tbh after having watched Zain in his previous show, and MHRW with Sai, I can't imagine anyone else being RR other than Sai. I agree about the Telugu dialogues etc., only someone who knew the language that well could pull it off so well. I remember he would event correct the telugu writing bc the writers wouldn't get it right. I can't picture Zain as RR - he's too polished, too clean cut. Sickand always does well with casting choices. Its just end execution that he seems to fall short in lol.

I seriously feel SP pushing the show to 5:30pm also made Sickand give up on the show. Warna the actor who plays KR is a regional actor known for villain roles. Why would sickand take a pakka regional actor for KR if he never wanted the character to make an appearance. I feel SP pushing the show to 5:30 made Sickand want to end the show with minimal effort - that is why shooting 2 episodes in a day and that stupid Milind - Rajni track. It would have been superb to see KR and RR face off and the heavy Telugu masala dialogues. Uff we missed that Tashan.

Yes agree with you - Sai aced RR and no one could have done it better than him. His Telugu dialogues are an added bonus.

Osman Khalid butt? I've not seen any of his shows except for r the one with Maya ali and 2 generation love story i forgot the name ouch.

Zain would have not suited the role of RR I agree. Sai was the best sicku could get. He lived RR so well, the telugu added a lot of depth to him. I wished Shivi was given more marathi dialogues since I understand it, I would have enjoyed it much more hahah. Not sure why Sicku didn't use a lot of Marathi dialogues except for one token samajla or Veda manus or uddhat manus or may be Kashi aahes?

Tbh its really interesting how their actors are getting more "liberal" and "bold" by day in their off-screen presence and appearance, but the rules for writing the characters are becoming more conservative. PTV has always tried to maintain that line and I find myself in sometimes a dilemma being muslim myself LOLOL. I'm like hmm, it's great that they can show passion and connection without the need to be physically close at the same time i'm like ahh man, this scene would look great with a hand graze etc. hahah. I have seen some hand holding and some hugging in dramas recently (amanat and amek both had it), so idk, but yeah, i feel like a few years ago it was more open.

I don't remember the kiss in YKS - but i think they were dating at the time / shortly announced they were together so I guess they though ti was ok. I'm ok with them maintaining that boundary bc that is the culture in which they are marketing their shows and that is part of their culture in general. But, sometimes if the acting and direction are not up to par, it really stands out as something that is missing. Only the greater actors/actresses can show that same love, longing, passion etc., without the need for physical acting, but it's still slim pickings.

lolzzz yes. That was my first time watching him too LOL. I told you, I'm sooo out of the loop now when it comes to PTV LOL.

I agree, he shouldve put in more Marathi dialogue. Tbh I think the show had shifted so much onto RR, that I feel like most of the development was given to him instead of Pallavi. Maybe thats why, they were too focused on RR the character instead of placing equal focus on Pallavi the character too.
