Som is a user with a victim complex...yes I may sound harsh but he has taken advantage of the Modak's affection, especially Sid's love for him in every situation so far.

Starting right with the failed wedding with Mithai...even if we don't consider Mithai and her mother and the pain and trauma the situation caused them what about the Modaks? Did he think about Dadai? Sid despite having so much trauma did not even give a second thought about marrying Mithai because of his unconditional love for Dadai. Ekon sheye gaye pore, chokhe jol niye Dadai ke abhinandan janache kintu eto bhalobasha kothaye chilo when he conspired with the Agarwals to burn down the base kitchen? Did he once think about Dadai or Sid at that time? No as ususal he very conveniently made himself the victim and ran away.

When Sid married Mithai to cover up for his mistake...was he ever angry at Mithai for his brother's sake? No it was always because Mithai gained more recognition within the family and the Modak group for her efforts, so he wanted to get rid of her

Som's pathology is that he is always the victim and everyone is to blame for his situation except for him. I agree there have been external factors that have influenced his judgement but they were able to influence him to this extent because of his own insecurities.

Even in his marriage he is now shifting the blame onto Tess for not being able to accept him...despite very well knowing beforehand how obssessed she is with Sid. Did he really expect her to magically change especially now given her closer proximity to Sid? And the irony of the situation is now he actually has no one to blame but himself ...because he consulted no one...not even his precious little brother whose former best friend he was marrying.

Sid is fully justified in calling him out on this matter...in fact I would have called him foolish had he not done so. Although I know that this fracture is not going to last long this time and will probably be used as a plot device to show Mithai helping the two brothers patch up...but Som needs to do serious penance for his redemption...he needs to realise that he is living in a house of cards right now which can crumble at any second and accordingly decide where his loyalties lie.

Bitter truth of Som's life - His life was doomed at an early age by his Parents 😐 His Father was scared to accept him n his Mother instead of saying the truth tried to get rid of him by faking a story n ruining lives.. Somoresh was rude to him coz of misunderstanding between him n Arati n Arati's death..

He grew up in fear n with insecurities (Dadai had pointed this in one of the initial episodes) but no one in the family did anything to make his insecurities go away.. Somoresh had always criticized him but no one ever protested except Sid.. So I hate to say this but Dadai n Thammi were at fault too for Som's upbringing.. They used to call him the Eldest son of the family but had treated Sid as the eldest.. So it was easy to manipulate him..

@Red - I don't blame him completely when he left Mithai at the altar coz of Pisho's manipulation coz right before the wedding he comes to know that the girl Dadai had selected for him was actually supposed to be his Brother ki Dulhan.. Dadai wanted Som to marry Mithai coz Sid had refused to marry her.. And he wasn't even informed about the whole situation beforehand n it was insulting to him.. Pisho's words were - Dadai has selected an uneducated clumsy small town girl for the ADOPTED SON of the family whereas the actual ELDEST SON will be marrying a Highly educated girl like Tess.. He later did realized that he was wrong n he had even apologized to Mithai n Parvati Aunty...

But whatever wrong he did to Mithai out of jealousy was completely his fault n there I agree with you completely.. If he was upset with Dadai's decision he could have directly said it out to Dadai like Sid did.. But instead he started conspiring against Mithai with Tess n the Agarwals ... His justifications to Sid after getting exposed were totally wrong n absurd.. Som should be forever grateful to SidMit for covering up his crimes or else Somoresh would have sent him to jail for all his misdeeds..

@Blue - Som from what it seemed had developed a soft corner for Tess out of sympathy n self pity.. From Som Tess pre marriage convos it was clear both of them used to victimize themselves.. Som believed Dadai has wronged him for Mithai n Tess believes Sid has wronged her for Mithai .. And therefore Som took another wrong decision with the marriage proposal.. He thought Tess who is another victim like him will support him.. But we all know why Tess decided to marry Som.. I'm waiting for the day Sid will say it out loud to Som that marrying Tess was the biggest decision of his life 😜

@Green - Agree with you on this too.. Som's reaction after hearing about the Award News was so over dramatic .. SidMit were genuinely happy for Dadai coz they are actually the pillars of Modak family.. But Som after doing so many wrong things, he deserved this.. Sid doubting Som was so normal.. Earlier I thought maybe by involving Som in this crisis makers were trying to redeem him but thankfully no .. That fire incident should be brought up n this Sid doubting Som too should come before the family, I'm counting on Tess 😜

Basically the younger generation of Modaks covers the entire spectrum of 20s 🤣

I think Rajeev, Rudra and Som are the same age so 31 - 32 because Rajeev da had told Rudra once that they are Somo boyeshi

Sid is 29...given that he is one year junior to Rudra he cannot be any younger

Ratul and Dhara are 27 -28 because they don't use honorifics with each other

Sandy is 25-26

Sree is maybe around 22 -24

Mithai and Nipa are 21-22 because Nipa once did say that there is a 10 year age gap between her and Rudra like Dadai and Thamma

Sree and Nipa's ages mystify me the most. When the show started it was implied that Sree will be starting her PhD but recently it was revealed that she has not even completed her graduation 😕

After this I won't be surprised if they say Nipa is still in high school 🤣

@Red - Nope Sree once said she wants to pursue PhD in future but both Sree n Nipa were in college when Mithai started.. But since it started during Covid situation, Sree was doing online classes while Nipa was busy with selfie 😜

@Blue - Sid should actually be around 29 but in the divorce track his age was mentioned 26 n Mithai's age was 20 😜

@Green - Nipa is younger than Mithai.. And Nipa was actually speculating the age gap between her n Rudy.. She wasn't sure about the 10 years age gap..
