Star Pravah seems to be coming up with daytime shows, are other channels doing the same too ?
There used to be a concept of Day time shows and late afternoon/evening TV shows and night time shows and late night shows on Doordarshan.
For instance, Shanti featuring a very pretty Mandira Bedi was a daytime show and it never had a repeat telecast. at night or the next day, if you missed the episode you missed it for good. At one point the show became so interesting, I even bunked a few of my lectures for it. As far as I recall, the show started out as Shanti, later on it became Shanti-ek Ghar Ki Kahani.
Junoon was the night prime time show, telecast at 8:30 PM I think, that started the trend of repeat telecast even though initially it was only a night time show.
There were also late afternoon/evening slots where shows targeted at kids and teenagers were telecast. One such show was Neev.
Then there were late night slots, 10:30 PM onwards I think, where shows like Swabhiman and A Mouthful of Sky were telecast.
What Star Pravah is doing might be logical. People who want to watch a show they like will most probably watch it at the first telecast and if they miss it they might watch it on the web or download the app, so the repeat telecast of the same show multiple times in a day might not be effective . However if they bring is new shows, some of them might become popular. But they need to have flagship shows. In my opinion shows like Aai Kuthey Kaay Karte have run their course and need to be replaced.
I wanted to tag more people but only 5 are allowed.
