Sorry off topic-Was reading Saregamapa forum - because our own people comment there 🙂. Digitallove commented- why they don't have Mohammed Rafi special - why is it always Kishore Kumar special. But I was wondering - even more than Rafi or Kishore- why don't they ever have Lata Mangeshkar special - she ruled the longest - when Rafi was lead male singer and when Kishore Kumar was lead singer and then even after they both left this world. Wonder why?????

I think because they sang tough songs that most contestants will struggle with.
Some like Aru make it look easy, but it is not.
Kishore and Sanu did not sing difficult classical based songs in the main. They lend themselves to such competitions where the training level of contestants is not the same.

That is my view.

I would tend to agree. In the early days of SRGM such difficult rounds existed. Classical round, Chord round, Rhythm round, etc.
